“We have a lovely stay at Mary's wonderful home with swimming pool in Ascot. Only 4 kms to the city centre, it was excellently placed for use of the public bus to town. We particularly enjoyed the modern open-plan kitchen dining living areas with fabulous views from the back balcony to the city skyline. The beds/linens were of good quality and very comfortable We would recommend Mary's home for anybody wanting a great location and a comfortable stay..”

“What a treat this property was! We arrived in the dark and to wake up to the stunning view of Lake Barcis was truly a highlight of our month in Italy. Travelling from Australia, and not wanting to go anywhere but Italy, I had invited a couple of friends from the UK and we all felt the same about Bella Vista. It is a gorgeous, rustic, homely house where you feel you can relax and simply soak up the environment of the village. We stayed a week and we ate in, with plenty of kitchen equipment provided and also took advantage of the 4 restaurants in town. We found some delightful locals too who were happy to interact with us. What's more, being late Sept we were literally the only tourists in town during the week! That was also a big treat having arrived from a stay in Venice! I would recommend a car. We were able to do some fabulous day trips - to Cortina, to Udine and a stunning 16th Century winery Rocca Bernada, and another day hiking around the lake and beyond. The internet worked well so no problems there. Kieran was always available and on hand to provide advice on what to do (a trip to the local markets in the nearby town was a hit too thanks to Kieran's tips). I would highly recommend this property and I truly hope we are able to return one day. Thanks Kieran and Linda for a wonderful stay; a beautiful memory.”

“If you're looking for a getaway to relax, unwind and immerse yourself in fabulous nature surroundings, then Kieran's lovely three storey 'Bella Vista' house is for you. No doubt the first guest into the house will choose the top floor front-of-house bedroom, which overlooks the enticing bright turquoise Lake Barcis. In the morning and indeed at any time of day it's truly beautiful - but as we discovered its alpine icy water allows for little more than a quick swim. At least we can say we did it! The house is comfortable with all the essential conveniences. We particularly were grateful of its cool interior while outside sweltered. Local bars and eateries are just a short stroll away and quite quickly you begin to feel that you are enjoying life like a local. High points of our trip were our day trip to Venice, eagle spotting in the Dolomite Mountains, walking through (& picnicking in) the lush woodlands of the Prescudin Forest (3Km distant), a visit to the Postojna caves in Slonvenia, tobogganing & a mile high lunch in neighbouring Piancavallo skiing resort and a stop off at the local winery for supplies! We will have fond memories of our trip for some time to come. 'Bella Vista' in Barcis is a great base for exploring the rugged beauty that nature offers in the Dolomite region of Northern Italy. Oh and of course Kieran was a great help to us in making the most of our trip. ”

“Bella Vista is a sweet, traditional home on 3 levels overlooking the beautiful lake in Barcis (across the road). It was well equipped and clean with plenty of towels. The village itself is beautiful and there are many stunning day trip venues accessible from there. The hosts were very communicative but be warned- there is no internet access so unless you have roaming, you will feel a little cut off (not always a bad thing ) Great place all in all, we hope to return ”
