About our home

A trullo is a traditional rural dwelling with a conical shaped roof or roves, known as coni. Our trullo has 5 'coni'.
It is set in an enclosed garden with a large terrace, perfect for entertaining/eating outside. It is set in a rural location, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The countryside lanes around the house are very pretty and perfect for cycling and walking. The house is basic and comfortable. Bedrooms are well equipped and there is a small separate TV room (DVDs only).
Guests can have access to the large garage where we keep 3 bikes, and also a table tennis table and beach equipment. The house is located between 3 very pretty towns, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino, where you will find an abundance of good quality restaurants. It is approximately 30 minute drive to local beaches on the Adriatic Coast.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
Too many to mention in local towns of Martina Franca and Cisternino. We especially like Garibaldi's in Martina Franca and recommend 'tagliata di manzi'
Retail therapy
Colourful local markets and lovely niche retailers in larger towns.
Bit of culture
Major opera festival in Martina Franca every July/August. Lots of evening 'festas' in local towns and villages on summer nights.
Walks in the park
Lots of walking and cycling in surrounding lanes and countryside. Very little traffic so this is very safe and not too hilly.
Spot of exercise
As above. Great for fitness enthusiasts. We cycle/walk every day before it gets too hot.
Day tripping
Drive further south to the Salento region, beautiful baroque town of Lecce, 'Venice of the South', Otranto. Gallipoli. Visit the underground cave system at Castellana Grotte. One of the most accessible and extensive systems in Europe. Beutiful hilltop towns of Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca , and culinary excellence in Ceglie Messapica.
