Escape the throngs of San Marco in this bright, renovated 1 BR Cannaregio loft home. Airy and spacious, the BR is equipped with a queen bed; there is also a 2nd single bed-mattress and toilet in the low, upstairs loft.
The apartment is at the end of a quiet calle and has a private entrance (which is covered, by the way, providing instant refuge in case of rain). It is located one floor up (1st/European, 2nd/North American) with 15 stairs. It is also on the top floor, so there is no one above you. The entrance is just off the Orto canal.
You can easily walk anywhere in the city, but you are also handy to vaporetto stops Madonna dell'Orto (one stop Alilaguna to the airport), Ca' d'Oro, and San Marcuola. It is also handy to the fondamenta Misericordia, full of wonderful restaurants and wine bars for an active night life, but easy to 'round the corner to your quiet refuge.
The kitchen is compact but well-equipped. There is no dishwasher, however. There is a washing machine, and although there is no dryer you can hang your clothes on the line outside, as Venetians do.
This is a smart home, with the thermostat and entrance key controlled by cell phone apps (though you will also have physical keys available). We request a 40 euro cleaning fee.
I'm an American living in Venice for over 15 years.
I teach Venetian rowing (like the gondoliers) with Row Venice here.
I'm a photographer and wine fiend.
The Fondamenta Misericordia is teeming with all the eating and drinking options you could ever hope for, along with our favorite ferramenta (hardware store), and not one, but several grocery stores. It's near the Jewish Ghetto (be sure to take the marvelous tour and visit the museum there) and the Madonna dell'Orto church.
You're also handy to 3 vaporetto stops, and not more than a single 25-minute Alilaguna ride from the Orto stop to the airport, after that it's a 6 minute walk and one bridge to the apartment.

Our 2 family home was built in 1904 during the Liberty Art Deco Period on Lido. It is in the center of the island just a 5 minute walk to the public boat...
