Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Dorsoduro has the best of both worlds: a tranquil, elegant, daytime atmosphere and one of the most happening nightlife areas, charming back streets and some of the city’s most interesting sights.
Make sure to visit Campo Santa Margherita. Stunning Piazza filled with coffee, bars and restaurant. Bring the kids along and let them happily and freely play soccer while you sip your spritz while nibbling cicchetti.

The biggest attraction in Dorsoduro is the Accademia, Venice’s most famous art gallery.

Other sights include the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (with a famous collection of modern art including pieces by Dali, Duchamp, Picasso, Mondrian, and Kandinsky) and the Church of San Sebastiano (famed for its cycle of paintings by Veronese, as well as paintings by Tintoretto and Titian).
The island of Giudecca, to the south of Venice, is also included in the Dorsoduro district.

You will experience Venice “like a local,” and be near some of Venice’s most major sights and enjoy a diverse Venice’s nightlife.

Buzzy restaurants
Linea d'Ombra, Riviera ( Obama's favorite), Cicchetteria Lo Squero ( MUST) In Campo Santa Margherita
Cool bars
Loggia di Antino, Harrys Bar, Bar at the Atman Hotel ( for important celebration since it is pricey but, oh, so worth it!) Ai Quadri and Cafe' Florian, the oldest cafe in Piazza San Marco...order champagne, listen to classical music and treat yourself!
Day tripping
Murano, Burano ,Torcello! I personally know the curator of the Museum
