Our south facing home is very comfortable and has every modern convenience including electronic bath and toilets (with remote control!). It is filled with art and has been a fabulous refuge for the three of us in a fast paced city. It's central location makes it easy to reach the middle of Tokyo and the middle of Yokahama both within 20 minutes. Tokyo Station 35 minutes away is the Shinkansen station and gateway to the rest of Japan. All rooms have heaters and airconditioners. The House has its own website available on request.
Jane and I have been married for 24 years. We met in Japan but figured out that we were at the same parties in U.K. but were never introduced! am a ceramics teacher. I have been an I exhibiting potter for 30 years- mostly in Japan and Braziland now more so in the u.K summer festivals. Jane is a sports teacher and coach . She has recently finished a 100km treck in 37 hours over 14 mountains to raise 1 Milion yen for Oxfam. We are currently working at an International School for girls where our daughter (Joanna) graduated from. Jo is now an assistant teacher in another school in Tokyo. We have travelled much and wish to continue exploring new areas and retracing out old haunts! We are new to "Home For Exchange" but are excited at the prospect to share our house with other professionals from other parts of the world.
Our neighbourhood is called Gakugeidaigaku (GAKKU-GAY-DIE-GAKKU). We love it! Truly Japanese but also just as cosmopolitan. Within a few minutes walk from our residential street are: multi-cultural restaurants- All kinds of Japanese Italian/French/ /Columbian/North American fast food /Indian/and much more literally 10 minutes walk from our front door. retail outlets; supermarkets; 24 hour convenience stores.Satrbucks and a host of other coffee shops The main shopping street is pedestrian only and has such a rare quiet quality in the evenings as people "footpad" home from work picking up things for supper or visiting their favorite restaurants for dinner. Himonia park is 10 minutes walk away and Komozawa Olympic Park is about 20 mins walk away-open air pool in summer and running/cycling tracks etc.
