About our home

We're so lucky to have this wonderful home in the upscale Yokohama suburb of Honmoku. We're surrounded by wonderful Japanese culture and yet live in the comfort of a western-style home. We have high ceilings, big open living spaces and a large japanese style garden.

More about us

  1. We're a family of 4 and we have a 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. My husband is a Project Manager for a Telecommunications Company and we've been in Japan for 5 years. I'm from Seattle, my husband is from Fiji and prior to coming here, Australia was our home. We've never done a house exchange before and would expect to arrange something in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email.

Where is it?

The famous Sankeien gardens are at our doorstep, as are many little shops, temples and restaurants. Buses and transport are super close and will take you to the famous Motomachi Shopping District, Chinatown and scenic waterfront downtown Yokohama. There's a new trainline from Motomachi straight into Central Tokyo too which only takes 40 minutes! We've had so many visitors here and they all love the centrality of Yokohama. It's such a wonderful cosmopolitan city on it's own, yet also a short day trip away from the various parts of Tokyo, Kamakura and Mt Fuji. Our neighbourhood offers a quiet relief from the crowds in Tokyo. Also Bullet Trains leave Shin Yokohama Station for anywhere in Japan. I'm happy to offer suggestions or help you with notes on bus numbers, train lines etc if you know where you want to go.
