About our home

Situated on a pretty green-lane in one of the more secluded parts of rural Jersey and just a 20-minute walk to beautiful 5-mile St Ouen's beach - this recently refurbished former dower house creates an idyllic 2-bedroomed bolthole to "get away from it all".

Whether you're visiting Jersey as an individual, a couple, a family with children, or a group of friends, the house has been set up to provide the comfort of home and give you a relaxing base from which to explore the island.

The entrance to the house is directly beside the parking area and leads straight into a porch and the downstairs hallway.

To the left is a modern fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine with dryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen has a dining table to seat 4 as well as a small writing desk / extendable table.

To the right of the hall is the large comfortable living room which has two sofas, a 46" internet enabled smart TV (with UK Freeview channels and Netflix subscription included), a games console, a selection of books and board games and an electric flame-effect log burner.

The 2 double bedrooms are upstairs. One can be made up as either a super king-size zip-link bed or 2 single beds. The other has a standard double bed, a single folding camp bed, and also a cot. Both rooms have built in wardrobes / drawers and lovely views over surrounding countryside.

Also upstairs is the bathroom with its separate walk-in power shower cubicle, full length bath, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail.

The house is entirely self-contained and you'll have exclusive access to it during your stay. Outside the property there is space for you to park up to 2 cars right beside the door.

If you're visiting with young children or an infant the house includes a good selection of toys, books, games and various related equipment that you may find useful. I can also supply tips on child friendly activities, excursions and restaurants / cafes in the area as well as provide contact details for local babysitters.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is situated in St Ouen's parish in the north-west of Jersey, among a network of tranquil green-lanes that provide plenty of opportunity to walk, cycle or horse-ride away from the busier main roads.

The local area is primarily agricultural with most fields planted with Jersey Royals (the island's famous potato) or home to Jersey cows and racehorses (the island's racecourse is nearby).

Jersey's scenic cliff paths, the nearby surfing beaches of St Ouen's Bay and Plenmont Bay as well as Grosnez Castle, German military bunkers / towers and various historic dolmen are all within a 30 minute walk.

St Ouen's village with its two local supermarkets, pharmacy, ATM and filling station is a 5 minute drive, the airport 15 minutes drive and the main town of St Helier (and the ferry terminal) a 20 minute drive away.

Buzzy restaurants
Jersey has an incredibly varied and well developed food scene, from cheap but quirky beach cafes to Michelin starred fine dining - all within 20 minutes drive. I can supply a list of my favourites!
Cool bars
The main town of St Helier (20 mins) has plenty of fun bars from cosy pubs to modern concept cocktail bars.
Cozy cafés
Coffee culture is big in Jersey - I've a list of recommended places from family friendly to chic retreats.
Retail therapy
Jersey has plenty of international chains and local producers to tempt you. Low tax can make trips to the many jewellers a must!
Walks in the park
Jersey's scenic costal route starts within a 15 minute walk from the house and there are plenty of lovely tranquil lanes to explore on foot or bike nearby.
Spot of exercise
Golf, tennis, surfing, swimming along with plenty of activity centres to tire out children and young at heart adults.
Day tripping
Plenty of fun and interesting day's out on Jersey or take to the sea with one of the many charter companies to visit other islands or even France on a day trip.
