About our home

Our house is an old colonial cottage that has been enlarged several times to now include 4 bedrooms (all ensuite), a cozy den/TV room, separate living and dining rooms each with a large woodburning fireplace, and a large terrace overlooking the pool and garden. The huge garden is a kids paradise with trees for climbing, a trampoline (including safety net) and friendly monkeys who drop in for a visit every few days. Our full-time housekeeper is also a wonderful cook and another house girl sees to all the cleaning and laundry. There are also 2 gardeners and a guard at night. One 4-wheel drive (and a driver for a fee) suitable for further excursions can be included in the swap. On the outskirts of Nairobi, our home is in one of the prettiest and safest areas in the country. We are minutes to shopping, restaurants, and the National Museum. Further afield, but still easy day trips are the Nairobi National Park for game drives, the giraffe centre, and white water rafting in the shadow of Mount Kenya. We also have another house in the Canadian Rockies. A log home on 8 acres and minutes from a wonderful ski resort, it is currently being renovated and will be available for swap from March 2013. We are open to non-simultaneous swaps for either house.
