About our home

The main house at Arcadia is simply gorgeous. Perched atop the cliff in the Shimba Hills, it overlooks the elephant reserve and the Manolo River. The architecture blends influences from traditional Swahili design with an elegant modern plan for open style living.
With 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and a huge kitchen, dining area and living area, the house also boasts an infinity pool at the front edge of the living area with the spectacular view unfolding before your eyes.
There are 2 dining areas inside and 2 more on the outside balconies – each overlooking the elephant sanctuary.
There is 1 large bedroom with en-suite bathroom downstairs (the house has been designed for ease of wheel-chair access), and 4 more big bedrooms upstairs. The huge master bedroom and one of the upstairs guest bedrooms have a balcony looking out to the reserve and the river below.
Set within a 3 acres property with staff quarters for the gardener and with a housekeeper coming 3 days a week, this is a house to remember.

45 minutes drive down from the hills is the Diani Beach area – twice voted ‘Best Beach in Africa’ – where you can lie in the sun, swim in the sea, eat in numerous restaurants or stop at the beach bar for a drink.
Activities there include scuba diving, wind surfing, snorkeling, boat rides, deep sea fishing, visits to the coral reef or for a day-trip, to the amazing Kisite Marine Park, famed as a dolphin breeding ground and home to tens of thousands of fish.
You can also go bike riding, hire a paddle board, jet skis or quad bikes.
