About our home

The property (with 20000 m2 of belonging land) is located 95 km north of Vilnius at the beautiful little lake named Karalishkes (King's lake) and consists of two rural country houses (one with a lake view dining terrace) plus sauna house.
There is a private boat mooring (15 m long) with 2 boats: fishing boat and single rowing boat. Finish sauna (separate cottage with a cooling-off room) is on the very lakeshore and has a small verandah.
Around the garden you will find the tennis court, the big stone built BBQ (10 m from the lake), and the sofa swing.
We have a housemaid, living pretty close to the place, who will be happy to help you around.
There are TVs, DVD&video, fireplace and a small jacuzzi in the house. The place is ideal for family reunion, couples, holidays with children and pets, for all those who prefer to enjoy peace and quiet but would also like to have a chance to get away for some clubbing or theatre performance - the town of Vilnius defenitely has a noteworthy nightlife.
We also have a two-floor mansard flat (second home) in the very heart of Vilnius town (recently renovated, two fireplaces, jacuzzi in the bedroom, TV/DVD/stereo, etc.) which we can give for exchange when season is not appropriate for living at the lake.

More about us

We are Helene and Bjarne - married couple, living in Lithuania for 15 years since we moved from Denmark.
We are both professionals: writer and economist.
Bjarne is the ex-world champion in single scull, therefore we had to find a place like this for him to keep training, it took almost 3 years to find a really perfect lake - clean and long enough, although there are many magnificent lakes in Lithuania.
I have written two of my last books spending few summer seasons at the lake and that means a lot for me.
We have three Yorkies (never take them for travel having the option of leaving them looked after by our servant) so all the dogs are very welcome in the house and garden.
Both places we offer for exhange are so called second home, so we are pretty flexible with the dates and seasons.
