About our home

Our house has a lot of character - it is older than existing records in Luxembourg but about 200 years old. We have fully renovated it - there is a wonderful, light-filled attic ideal for sleepovers - the house is on three floors and very large so it is easy to escape from everybody else. It would be a fun place for a very large group.

More about us

  1. My wife and I are both teachers. I am English, she is American. We lived near Seattle for 4 years before moving to Europe 7 years ago. We have two daughters, aged 8 and 10. We love being in Europe, partly for the travel possibilities - we are 1 hour 15 from a budget airline hub and use it most holidays to travel to Italy, Spain, South of France, etc. We love to hike, especially in the mountains.

Where is it?

We live in a village 5 miles from the centre of Luxembourg city. An excellent train service gets you to town in 11 minutes. We are surrounded by fabulous beech woods, ideal for hiking and biking. Luxembourg is European Capital of Culture for 2007 and will be an especially vibrant city this summer, with many festivals and artistic events. A new fast train to Paris will get you there in 2 and a quarter hours. You can use our car to drive to Brussels (2 hours), Strasbourg (2 hours), Amsterdam (4 hours, Trier (40 minutes. Use our house as a base to see large parts of northern Europe.
