About our home

The apartment is in a unique location where we have a sweeping view of the South China Sea and in a very peaceful and unspoilt environment within easy reach of Damai Golf and Country Club and nearby beach resorts.

It is about 45 minutes drive from Kuching International Airport and about 30 minutes drive from the Kuching city centre. It is located north of Kuching city on the Santubong Peninsula (also called Damai).

There are the world's oldest tropical rainforest, Santubong National Park, Mount Santubong, Wetlands National Park and Bako National Park all within reasonable driving distance where it is possible to see spectacular scenery and rare trees, plants and animals including proboscis monkeys and orangutans.
Nearby amenities:
The nearby amenities include a fishing village called Buntal (10 minutes drive) with seafood restaurants on stilts by the riverside, Damai Beach with beach resorts and spas, Damai Central and Sarawak Cultural Village (all within 5 minutes drive and 25 minutes walk).

Damai Central is a seaside complex that has restaurants, food courts and shops including Escobar serves good western food at reasonable price, a seafood restaurant, a cafe, couple convenience/souvenir stores and a 7-11 store. The food and snacks served at the food courts are scrumptious and extremely good value. The roti (Indian pancakes) is a must try! There are also several restaurants and spas at the hotels nearby Damai Central, such as Damai Beach Resort, Pernai Rainforest Resort and Damai Puri Resort and Spa.

The closest village for grocery shopping with basic necessities is the Santubong Village (5 minutes drive). The closest town is Semariang (20 minutes drive) where you can find more shops including Mydin hypermarket.

In Kuching City you can find a wide range of restaurants and bars, as well as river cruises and museums. There are also quite a few massage parlours which offer pampering and reasonably priced massages. It is also worth wandering into the old town and China town that has some interesting alleys and shops selling antique dark wood furniture and beautiful handicrafts.
Leisure activities:
Leisure activities in the local area (Damai) include golfing, mountain biking, jungle trekking, jet skiing, kayaking and fishing. Damai Golf and Country club is located next door to us (2 minutes drive) with an 18 hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.
Getting around:
You are recommended to hire a car in order to maximize convenience, particularly if you would like to explore a range of activities and areas. A number of car hire companies can be found on internet. However, if you prefer not to hire a car, it is possible to get around by taxi and shuttle buses run from the nearby resort hotels into the city.
Guest access:
An outdoor 25m swimming pool, table tennis, car parking and garden.
Inside the apartment:
- Telephone for free local landline phone calls.
- TV with a list of international TV channels.
The apartment is in a gated and peaceful complex.
