“We absolutely loved our two week stay at Heidi's comfortable Santubong apartment! The apartment was very comfortable for the two of us. I loved the night-time view from the bedroom: you could look at the boat lights on the sea as well as the fireflies in the trees and it was just magic. During the day I loved being on the balcony to look at the silver leafed monkeys in the trees and watch them interact as a social group. The pool was spectacular; we had it to ourselves every time. The apartment is in a quiet spot on the Santubong peninsula, perfect for nature lovers. We enjoyed walking in the Santubong National Park, the Cultural Village nearby and the night-time wildlife nature cruise, but it was also a really good spot for seeing everything around Kuching with a rental car. (It was far more affordable to rent a car rather than pay for tours, and the driving was enjoyable and meant you could stop at road-side stalls for fruit, food etc). We ate mostly at the Damai food court, a few minute's drive away, which has a large variety of food in 10 stalls, and we also found both good road-side food and fruit stalls and "kopitiams" (cafeterias) in the nearby Samariang, which also has a very big grocery store. Heidi was a pleasure to communicate with. We loved our stay very much; thank you, Heidi!”
“A must destination for anyone with a taste for exploring a unique location. Loved the wildlife and the people. Great apartment, all mod cons with a super view. Eating out also great, enjoyed superb sea food at low prices. Downside? Beaches are not suitable for bathers - watch out for the crocs!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 week stay in the Santubong Suites. There are sweeping views of the South China Sea and we enjoyed spotting monkeys from the balcony. The apartment block has a large 25 m pool overlooking the jungle. We had it to ourselves the whole time. There are numerous staff who were more than helpful. We tended to eat out most of the time at the three hotels which are only a 5 min drive away. Borneo is such an exciting place to visit and great fun for children. We were lucky enough to meet Heidi and her family when they stayed at our house in the UK. They are a lovely family and treated our house perfectly. We would highly recommend this swap. ”
“We spent 10 days in this lovely spacious apartment surrounded by jungle and great views over the South China Sea. Beautiful swimming pool and very friendly staff. Sarawak Cultural Village nearby is worth a visit. There are a few resorts, but the area is very quiet.. We ate at several great seafood restaurants in Kampung Buntal, a fishing village 10 minutes drive away and also at the food court in Damai Central. Also did an evening boat trip out of Sambutong village viewing Irrawaddy Dolphins, monkeys etc. There is a walk up Mount Sambutong (more a climb and scramble than sedate walk!), with a lovely waterfall, which we did early in the morning as it was extremely hot. Relaxing spot.”
“Heidi stayed three weeks or so in our home and was a wonderful house guest ”
“Heidi was an exception house guest and a lovely person, too. ”
“Heidi and her family stayed about three weeks and were great house guests. Our house was left perfectly. Communication was kind and easy. Heidi, you know this already but you are welcome back at any time! ”
“Heidi was a great guest who communicated quickly and clearly and left the house spotless. ”
“Heidi and Paul were perfect guests. They left the house very clean and tidy and even left us a gift and some supplies for when we got back which was very thoughtful. They kept in communication with us throughout their stay and made us feel very comfortable about having them in our home. We would happily welcome them again anytime. ”
