This ground floor detached maisonette is built out of honey coloured limestone in traditional Gozitan style. It was our family home for years, but is now our holiday retreat as we have had to move to mainland Malta. It is full of natural light and has lovely country views from the terrace at the back of the house. It is comprised of a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area, one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms (one of which with ensuite bathroom), and a separate shower room. Kitchen has all the needed utensils and kitchenware, oven, microwave and hob. There is a light filled study/reading/writing room with good connection to wifi. The house also offers a small back garden which is ideal for al fresco dining and BBQs in the warmer months, as well as a hammock and seating. The house is simply, yet comfortably furnished along with Wifi and Cable TV. There are also two bicycles you can use to explore the Gozitan countryside.
The house is situated in a typical tranquil Gozitan village with two small convenience stores and a small local bar within walking distance. We are only 2 minutes drive or 15 minute walk to the sea and Dwejra, a likely soon to be UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best diving spots in the Mediterranean. Nothing is too far away on the island of Gozo, with the house being a 10 minute drive from the larger town of Victoria with its fortification, the Citadella. It is a 15 minute drive from Ramla Bay with its famous red sand and equally as far from the spectacular Ta Cenc Cliffs. Further afar, Comino island and the beautiful Blue Lagoon is only a 10 minute ferry journey from the island, with the main island Malta being a 25 minute ferry away, departing regularly day and night.
To visit the Maltese Islands, we have a well connected International Airport (Luqa) serving over 85 destinations including multiple low-cost and standard routes. The slower-paced, picturesque island of Gozo is a 40 minute taxi and 25 minute ferry journey from the airport.
