About our home

Our home has beautiful mountain and lake views. Our community is gated/safe.
Bike path extends on the main street, under 1/4 mile from our community.
We have two bicycles in the garage, which guests are free to use.
There is kayaking on the lake, with the kayak club. They welcome kayakers and the fee to use one of those
kayaks is minimal. Behind us lay more mountains and a hiking group, also very welcoming of new visitors.

Many retire here. People are helpful and friendly.

45 minutes from Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city and between the villages of Ajijic and Jocotopec.
(Note that Guadalajara is inland - not on the beach.)
Our house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, high speed internet, TV, washer/dryer, microwave oven and dishwasher. There is a large covered terrace with view of Lake Chapala. A pool and extra guest house (Casita)which can sleep two.
HOUSEKEEPING: The exchange includes 1x weekly maid.
Ajijic is a 400 year old fishing village with cobblestone streets. The elevation is 5,000 feet. With mountains in the background and Lake Chapala below, this region has one of the best climates in the world. Average daily temperatures are in the 70's with very low humidity. Most nights a light jacket is required. Central heating or air conditioning is not required here.
The Lake Chapala area was discovered by Europeans in the 1940's and became a writer and artist's colony. It is now home to one of the largest communities of US and Canadian expats in Mexico.
thermal baths of San Juan Cosala, and 45 minutes from the Guadalajara International Airport.
