My home is situated in the center of Ajijic, an expat community on the north shore of Lake Chapala - a 45 minute cab ride from the Guadalajara airport. The weather is sunny and in the 70-80's all year round. You can walk to everything in the village or you could take buses in either direction from the bus stops on the corner. You do not need to speak Spanish here as most people also speak English. Ajijic is an artist colony and has many wonderful restaurants. Guadalajara can be accessed by cab or by bus and is an hour away.
I have one small dog who needs to be walked twice a day and one small cat. I have automatic waterers and feeders and a dog door so both animals have access to the front yard. The house is completely private with a screened porch in the front and a paved patio in the back. There is satellite TV, Netflix a DVD/CD player and Magic Jack for free calls to the US. Wireless high speed internet is available as is an Apple computer. There is maid and garner service provided once a week.
I am a single non-smoking retired female psychologist. I will be in the Vancouver, WA/ Portland area September 3 to September 18, 2015. I am looking for a home exchange or house/pet sit during that time. I am respectful of your property and will leave it as good or better than how I find it. I can also take care of any pets you might have. I love animals. I am dependable and resourceful and could handle any emergencies. Having lived in Vancouver for 20 years, I am familiar with the city.
Ajijic is situated on a large lake that has boating, fishing and kayaking available. The rainy season goes from June to October, but it only rains for an hour early in the morning and another hour around 5 PM. The rainy season is the nicest time to be here. In September, the weather will be around 75 during the day and around 65 at night. Every day is sunny.
