Casa Myers is a one storey villa located in a small gated enclave of 6 homes one block from the lake. We have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a den and solarium. The formal living and dining areas open onto a large covered outdoor patio with an entertainment and lounge area. The outdoor dining area seats up to 8 people. Our tropical garden is walled and contains a private heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, weeping wall and outdoor bar with built-in gas BBQ. A tiled, rooftop garden (mirador) is perfect for cocktails at sunset and provides magnificent views of the mountains. A small art casita at the rear of the yard is a wonderful place to paint or read. We have a part-time maid (once a week), gardener, and pool man. We have two HD TV's with Shaw satellite, high-speed internet and telephone.
Excellent public transportation is available but Casa Myers is within walking distance of the central square, restaurants and shopping.
We are Stan and Paula Myers. Stan is a retired educator and Paula has retired from the business world. We have traveled extensively and life before Ajijic was aboard a 43 ft. sloop cruising the Caribbean. We are accompanied by our two small, well behaved dogs. Emma, a poodle mix and a small Havanese called Chiquita. All four of us are neat, tidy and will take care of your home as if it were our own. We have exchanged homes on two other occasions and enthusiastically await this new adventure.
The village of Ajijic is very safe with a large English speaking population. The year round climate is moderate and has been rated as one of the top 2 in the world. The summer months are considered the most beautiful when the mountains turn a vivid green. A popular expat community, Ajijic is located on the north shore of Lake Chapala, one of the largest lakes in Mexico. Guadalajara and it's international airport are just 45 minutes away. Ajijic is a true example of the typical Mexican pueblo with its narrow cobblestone streets and central plaza. This 450 year old village is a picture postcard of colorful buildings, greenery and flowers. Ajijic has numerous social groups including The Lake Chapala Society, bridge clubs, garden clubs, the American Legion, Lakeside Little Theater, Symphony Orchestras, Jazz and great places to dance. A variety of classes, including art, music, handicrafts and of course Spanish. There are literally a hundred fine restaurants offering a wide variety of spectacular food at very reasonable prices.
