About our home

Note: this condo is currently mainly only available for rent or very unique exchanges (no points); contact us here or find Joe Power on FB from Courtenay, BC, Canada; red T-shirt holding fish on beach.
This property is one of 5 resorts located on Solmar Beach in Cabo San Lucas; it is the only full-ownership condo complex; the rest are timeshares or hotel establishments. This unit is on the bottom floor in one of only 2 front-row buildings (best location in complex). When you arrive, you will appreciate our Moorish architecture that blends in with the sand and the environment as well as the extremely low-density; we have only one building that is 3 stories at the rear of the complex, the rest are only 2 stories. You will notice acres of sand in between many of the buildings. Despite the growing populations of the adjacent resorts, at any given time, you will only see a handful of people on the beach; thus you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Yet when you walk over the slight hill away from the resort, you will find yourself in the midst of the bustling marina within a 5 minute walk. Within another 5 minutes, you are in the heart of town among its many bars, nightclubs, flea markets, kiosks, restaurants, taco stands & shopping areas including a modern mall. You will appreciate the quiet - the feeling of peace and tranquility; Access: an easy walk to town where everything is available; the unique topography that puts a hill between our oasis and Cabo's constant energy; this provides a buffer. You can hear the town fade away as you come down the walkway while the sounds of the ocean waves increase.
You will also appreciate the very inexpensive breakfasts, lunch, snacks & drinks that are offered at the Palapa pool bar. They will even cook your fish for a small fee (and it's delicious)! If you need assistance with your luggage/groceries, we have electric carts and staff to help. You will also find a handicap walk for easy accessibility.

This oasis provides your opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet of the vendor-free, pristine private beach, fabulous sunrises, sunsets and star-gazing with only the sounds of the ocean waves to rock you to sleep. Or you can choose to take part in the nightlife of downtown Cabo only a short stroll away; taxis are also available at the front desk and main gate if you need transportation.

Where is it?

We are located on Solmar Beach; isolated and quiet, yet just steps away from the marina and bustling life of downtown Cabo. It's rare to find a beach where you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, yet you can walk to all you will ever need. No car required here... yet taxis, uber are available if you need to get to Costco, Walmart and Home Depot.

Buzzy restaurants
Our Palapa Bar/restaurant for breakfast, lunch; Downtown & on Marina are many - Maro's Shrimp House & Wicked Pizza to name a few
Cool bars
For Baby-boomers: Cabo Wabo Cantina downtown (where Sammy Hagar of Van Halen fame) sometimes makes surprise appearances and plays for free...; for the younger set: Giggling Marlin & Squid Roe
Cozy cafés
Our Palapa bar, many on marina and downtown
Retail therapy
Mall complete with high-end shops
Bit of culture
Attend a Mexican fiesta next door at the Playa Grande
Walks in the park

Day tripping
Caution - unless it is very calm or you're an expert swimmer, beware (but that's why we get the lovely sound of the crashing waves). For safe ocean swimming, take a water taxi to Medano Beach 5 minutes away. The towns of Todos Santos (funky art town)& Los Barrilles (famous for kite-surfing) are great day trips
