About our home

Our Mexican home away from home is divided in 2 houses, a casa with 2 rooms, one bathroom, living room and an outdoor kitchen, a casita with one bedroom and a full bathroom. Main house renovated 2016, casita built 2016, inground pool. 400 meters from beach. Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico, 25 minutes from Manzanillo airport. A 7 passenger Dodge Caravan, can be offered, if interested.Melaque is a quiet fishing village of 5,000 and very se cure and the people here are even better than the weather, that is exceptional....

  1. We are retired, love travelling, and fell in love with Melaque and bought our piece of paradise. Non smokers requiring a non smoker environment. Fun loving but serious.

  2. We are French Canadians,fluent in French,English and almost in Spanish...learning everyday

  3. We live in Laval, Québec and rv (recreational vehicle) all summer, we live in Mexico from October to April and would love to try and exchange with others.

Where is it?


It being a small Mexican village, no city buzz here, open arms, smiles, entertainment and all around relaxation. You will be minutes away on foot from everything, beach, restaurants, dancing, retail stores, markets, butcher shops, ice cream shops.....walk everywhere anytime and always meet smiling faces and happy people. The Pacific Ocean remains calm in our beautiful bay.

Buzzy restaurants
At least 35 restaurants, from tacos on the street to beachside fine Italian,
Cool bars
You can listen to music and dance most nights of the week.
Cozy cafés
Coffee is incredible in Mexico, we benefit daily.
Retail therapy
Shopping is artisanal, beachwear mostly in village, very colorful and quaint
Bit of culture
The Mexican people are incredible, they will help you out and if you use a few Spanish words they will light up. They love tourists and make our living here in the winter months comparable to paradise.
Walks in the park
The Centro, next to the village Church, nightly strolling and bench conversations are the way to enjoy life.
Spot of exercise
Pickle ball courts, hiking in the mountain, walking everywhere, biking
Day tripping
Many beaches and small villages within an hour from our place, car, bus, organized tours by local restaurants
