Are you looking to spend a few days vacationing on a gorgeous beach next to crystal blue waters? Then Loreto, Mexico is just where you need to be! The beautiful and historical town of Loreto, located on the Sea of Cortez about 220 miles north of La Paz on the east coast of the Baja California peninsula in the state of Baja California Sur.
Loreto isn’t as well-known as other vacation spots in Mexico, so you can avoid the crowds and know you will enjoy every second of your time spent here.
Our home, Casa Paradiso, is located in Loreto Bay just 5 miles south of downtown Loreto. Loreto Bay is a community right on the beach, backed up to beautiful tropical mountains, surrounded by a championship golf course one side and the breathtaking Sea of Cortez on the other. Walk or ride bikes to any of the three pools for guests and residents to use, take a stroll on the beach in the morning and watch the sun rise over the point, wander over to one of the many tasty cafes on the Paseo for a bite to eat and don't forget to stop in to the wine bar and say hello to our friends Will and Cynthia who serve up some tasty treats and selection of wines from the finest vineyards in Valle de Guadalupe. Loreto Bay is situated in a small, protected bay with a gorgeous reef right out in front! Which in my humble opinion is of the BEST and safest places to snorkel in the calm, pristine and warm water of the Sea of Cortez. Other activities you can find there are kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and island tours. Or you can just chill out under one of the roomy palapas on the beach!

Buzzy restaurants
The Best Places To Eat In Loreto, Mexico Loreto is one of the five central locations in Baja California Sur including Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, and La Paz. Loreto was originally a Spanish missionary center and is now a tourist hot spot. People from all over the world love vacationing in Mexico thanks to its stunning scenery, and its tranquil atmosphere. Mexico is a popular destination for retirees and those who are looking for second homes. There are also many property management companies that can help find beautiful vacation rentals for you and your family. Five offshore islands offer a variety of adventurous activities including eco-friendly travel. Loreto provides a full spectrum of cuisine from favorite dishes such as fajitas, to delicious seafood specialties you won’t find anywhere else. Here are some of the best places to eat if you plan on visiting Loreto, Mexico. 1. Asadero Super Burro This is a locals’ favorite where you will find freshly pressed tortillas daily. You can watch the cooks grill and stew the beef and chicken through the open kitchen. Asadero Super Burro is widely known for it’s massively stuffed potatoes, grilled skirt steak, and extra large burritos. For those with small appetites, it’s better that you opt for the tacos. 2. Orlando’s While Orlando’s isn’t your go-to for fine dining, the food just can’t be missed. Tables are complete with plastic furniture, and colorful tablecloths. The cilantro fish signature dish is outstanding. For those with a somewhat sweet palate, the coconut shrimp with mango sauce is also excellent. You can expect huge portions at low prices and the best tortilla soup you’ve ever had. 3. Pan Que Pan Young hip locals run this quirky café and bakery. Pan Que Pan is a go-to for breakfast serving omelettes with beans, local cheese, and fresh bread. They provide a continental-style breakfast of decadent French toast with bananas, granola, and pastries. On the lunch menu, you will find pizzas, homemade pasta, salads, and baguette sandwiches. Dine in the garden while perusing through the delicious juice menu. 4. El Zopilote Brewery & Cocina This microbrewery is owned by a Mexican-Irish couple that has a widely diverse range of cuisine from chicken fajitas to fillet steak and creamy pasta. The atmosphere and décor make this restaurant an ideal place for a romantic dinner. Enjoy the locally brewed Blood Orange Pale Ale or the Rattlesnake IPA. Excellent appetizers include jalapeno poppers or halves stuffed with cream cheese and bacon. 5. El Rey del Taco Known as having the best fish tacos in town, El Rey del Taco looks like a hole-in-the-wall but is exceptionally clean. There is plenty of topping choices for you to design the taco of your dreams. The carne asada on corn tortillas make a great gluten-free option. The only complaint customers seem to have is that they wish it were open more often. 6. Café Ole If you are looking for quick, inexpensive bites near the main square, Café Ole serves delicious tacos, tortas, and Mexican breakfasts. There is indoor or outside seating available. After a full day of water and activities, this restaurant makes for a great place to have an easy, quick, and casual dinner. Try the huevos rancheros or the hotcakes with bacon and eggs. 7. Almejas Concho Sip on some of the best, and biggest margarita’s and michelada’s in town. Almejas Concho is a friendly restaurant known for their fresh seafood. It’s only a couple of blocks from the city center serving fresh fish daily. The chocolate clams and seafood tacos can’t be missed. 8. Giggling Dolphin Restaurant And Boat Bar The chefs at Giggling Dolphin will prepare and cook the fish you caught that day. The margarita’s and bloody Mary’s are full of flavor and spice. They cook chicken mole, seafood, salads, and even chicken Cordon Bleu topped with an unbeatable gravy. 9. Jr’s And George’s Excellent tacos and the skewers are great too. It is located just off the main plaza, making it extremely convenient especially when you’re hungry. You can expect low prices and high-quality food. The garden area is a nice spot to enjoy your meal under the fans to keep you cool. 10. Blue Anchor One of the few spectacular eateries with the best views of the Sea of Cortez. The food and service are top notch. On the upper deck, you can enjoy cucumber mojitos, mango and serrano pepper margaritas. The service is friendly, and the locals are always there!
