About our home

Loreto, Baja California Sur Mexico is a safe, secure, tranquil oasis located on the Sea of Cortez, just two hours by air from Los Angeles.

This historic mission town was settled in the fifteenth century by Jesuit, Franciscan, and later Dominican missionaries. Loreto was the first official capital of "Alta" (present day California) and "Baja" California dating back to 1697. Come to see our historic, perfectly preserved mission churches, and colonial Spanish architecture and ambiance.

This quiet village has come alive in the past few years, thanks to it's vital sportfishing and eco-tourism industries. The surrounding clear blue waters are now a dedicated Marine Reserve, and are teeming with dolphins, whales, and big game sportfishing species. Come in the summer to fish for Dorado, Sailfish, Marlin and other ocean pelagics, or visit the lagoons of Baja in the winter months to observe and interact with newborn baby grey whales. Adventurous travelers may kayak the many offshore islands, snorkel the bays and coves, or hike and mountain bike to exciting vistas. Loreto has something to thrill every type of vacationer.

Our comfortable five bedroom beach villa (four adult suites and a bunk bed room for the kids) is just a ten minute walk from the center of town, and includes every amenity, such as a film library, and Magic Jack phone.

Travel to Loreto quickly and safely on Alaska Airlines, departing Los Angeles daily. See beautiful Loreto, where even the mountains swim!
