We are located in a private, exclusive, gated community called La Punta on a peninsula between the two main bays of Manzanillo. The amenities include 24/7 security, a private beach, beach club, tennis courts, and tennis club. Not to mention that the neighbourhood is absolutely gorgeous! Manzanillo has an international airport and is the largest port on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It also has the largest naval base on the Pacific. Tourism is an industry here, but the majority of tourists are Mexicans from Guadalajara (3 hours drive away) and Mexico City (1 hour flight away). Accordingly, Manzanillo has retained a very Mexican flavor.
There are world-class golf courses in the area, and we are only 5 minutes from the Las Hadas Golf course. There are great restaurants and many activities to keep you as busy as you want (or not!). These include scuba, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, beach sports, ziplining and more. There are 2 major supermarkets within 5 minutes drive away (Comercial Mexicana and Walmart Supercentre). I have a list of activities and restaurants waiting for you.
We would love to do a car exchange, but our cars are imported and Mexican law prohibits other people from driving them. We do, however, know several very reliable taxi drivers that speak English - taxis are very, very cheap here, BTW.
Guadalajara is 200 KM (3 hours) away and is the second largest city in Mexico. There is great shopping and lots of historical sights to take in. We know a great B&B that you can stay at to explore the city if you choose to do a side trip (well worth it!).
