“We had a wonderful time at Glen and Ross's gorgeous home in spring 2012. No photos can really do justice to the experience of swimming in or sitting by the infinity pool with a wide screen view of the Pacific ocean, a gentle breeze and constant 25 degrees centigrade. La Punta is a completely secure private estate with its own lovely beach. The state of Colima is one of the safest in Mexico and we had no worries at all. Glenn and Ross are a pleasure to deal with, very quick to respond to emails and excellent at anticipating the needs of their guests. They were superb guests at our home and looked after it beautifully. Their house is a great base for days out, sampling the fabulous local restaurants, enjoying beaches and the friendly Manzanillo residents. We give this our highest level of recommendation.”

About our home
Hablo español tambien. Our home is new and has incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. There are 4 bedrooms (each with ensuite) over 3 floors. The upper floor is the entertaining area and has a palapa (thatched) roof over the living room, and an infinity pool.
There is Travertine marble throughout and granite in all 6 bathrooms. The furniture is all Rattan imported from Indonesia.
The bedrooms are located on the two lower levels. It is super quiet here - the only noise you hear are the birds and the ocean!
We have a maid that works 3 days a week, plus a gardener/pool guy that is also in 5 days a week.

Glen's reviews
As a host (2)“We enjoyed every single day of our 16 day Easter exchange with Glen & Ross from Manzanillo, Mexico! Communications with this friendly couple went smooth and swift. Their gorgeous and spacious home was very well decorated and well equipped, with a lovely pool in a beautiful, safe and exclusive gated community. Their home is nothing short of sensational and the sea view is magnificent. We took daytrips to Barra de Navidad, Colima and Comala and enjoyed the many restaurants of Manzanillo. Thank you Glen & Ross! This exchange comes highly recommended.”
More about us
-
I am Glen (49) and my partner is Ross (53). We quite often travel with another couple, and they would be with us for at least part of the exchange.
We have a cat named Pelusa (Fuzzy) that lives outside and on the upper floor of the house - if you could put food out for her, we would appreciate it.
We keep our house spotlessly clean, and would do the same with yours.
****Please note that we are not interested in exchanging to anywhere cold - we moved to the tropics for a reason!****

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
We are located in a private, exclusive, gated community called La Punta on a peninsula between the two main bays of Manzanillo. The amenities include 24/7 security, a private beach, beach club, tennis courts, and tennis club. Not to mention that the neighbourhood is absolutely gorgeous! Here is the website for the neighbourhood: http://www.lapuntacondo.com/la_punta.html
Manzanillo has an international airport and is the largest port on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It also has the largest naval base on the Pacific. Tourism is an industry here, but the majority of tourists are Mexicans from Guadalajara (3 hours drive away) and Mexico City (1 hour flight away). Accordingly, Manzanillo has retained a very Mexican flavor.
There are world-class golf courses in the area, and we are only 5 minutes from the Las Hadas Golf course. Isla Navidad Golf Course is about an hour's drive north of here: http://www.islanavidad.com/golf/index.asp . Also, El Tamarindo is the #2 rated golf course in Mexico and is about 1 1/4 hours north of Manzanillo: http://eltamarindoresort.info/
There are great restaurants and many activities to keep you as busy as you want (or not!). These include scuba, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, beach sports, ziplining and more. There are 2 major supermarkets within 5 minutes drive away (Comercial Mexicana and Walmart Supercentre). I have a list of activities and restaurants waiting for you.
We would love to do a car exchange, but our cars are imported and Mexican law prohibits other people from driving them. We do, however, know several very reliable taxi drivers that speak English - taxis are very, very cheap here, BTW.
Guadalajara is 200 KM (3 hours) away and is the second largest city in Mexico. There is great shopping and lots of historical sights to take in. We know a great B&B that you can stay at to explore the city if you choose to do a side trip (well worth it!).
