The house is actually 3 living areas, but the upstairs living area is likely where you would stay if you exchanged with us as we rent the ground level apartments out all year round. This upstairs area has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofabed for an extra person if necessary. The large open living space is functional for life on the beach. The balcony, our favorite part of the house, has a palapa and is a marvelous place to just relax and soak in the scenery. We love the view of the Gulf from our house - the emerald green waters are lovely to wake up to, and quite often we have hummingbirds come by to visit!
Ryan and Donna are parents of young children, but we are not necessarily young! We met later in life, and after a whirlwind romance, got married and had 3 beautiful children. This year we will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary! Our children Abigail (9) Samuel (6) and Zoe (4) are full of life and inquisitive, and love to travel almost as much as their parents.
We welcome you to stay at our house in Telchac Puerto, Yucatan, Mexico. It is a quaint little fishing village, you will experience traditional Mayan life. Our house is a great place to ¨land¨after exploring the peninsula... caves, cenotes, Mayan ruins, and colonial cities will only be the beginning of your adventure. You can arrange for deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and we have even hosted windsurfers at our house!
Mayan Ruins: Chichen Itza (2 hours drive), Uxmal (2 hours), Ek Balam (1.5 hours), Xcambo (10 minutes) and Dzibilchaltun (25 minutes).
Fabulous cenotes all over the Peninsula, but our favorite is in Cuzama, which is 2 hours away. There are also cenotes in San Crisanto, the next town to the east, and Motul, a town 20 minutes south of us, and at the ruins of Dzbilchaltun, 25 minutes from us.
Caves include Balankanche (near Chichen Itza) and LolTun (2 hours away).
Beautiful colonial cities include Merida (of course!) Izamal, Valladolid, and Tizimin.
Rio Largartos and Celestun are beautiful lagoon reserves where you can see flamingos and crocodiles!
Deep sea fishing can be arranged through our bilingual property manager.
