Our villa is located in the private and upscale section of Playacar, a private country club area with an 18 hole championship golf and country club, private beach club, and spa. Each of the three bedrooms has an in-suite bath. Two bedrooms have king size beds and one has two twins. A blow up bed is available also in-case needed. We have a large modern kitchen and dining room that accomodates 8 people. The master and downstairs bedroom have a balcony overlooking our shared pool and tropical gardens. There is a patio with a grill and outdoor seating that views the pool (and kiddie pool). We have fabulous neighbors from all around the world. Our lovely housekeeper Adela will be here three days a week. You will also have access to our membership at The Reef Club. (Beach chairs, umbrellas, gym, pools.) We have 3 adult bikes, one with a child seat attached and two childrens bikes. It's a 5 minute ride to town and the beach. Taxis are everywhere and cost $2USD to get to town or the beach. We also have plenty of toys and games for your children or grandchildren.
My husband and I moved to Playa a year ago from Orlando, FL. I am an elementary school teacher and my husband is in the Real Estate Development business. We plan on living here in Playa for 5 years. We have two children 7 and 4 who love everything outdoors and trying new things. We are all learning Spanish, but it's not necessary here because most people speak English as well. We love living here and having guests come visit the area. There are so many wonderful restaurants, cenotes to explore and breathtaking beaches. This is our first exchange, but are looking forward to a more local vacation experience. I would love to exchange favorite restaurants, yoga studios, and other areas of interest.
Not too long ago, Playa del Carmen was a sleepy fishing village on the coast of the Caribbean Sea at the Yucatan peninsula. It started attracting tourists for its exceptional scuba diving conditions and its white beaches. At present it has attained an enormous development, with plenty of luxury hotels, condominiums and a wide variety of restaurants, offering not only Mexican cuisine, but French, Italian, Argentine and many others. As far as amusement is concerned, you can practice fishing, diving, swimming with the dolphins, sailing, boating, jet skiing, golf and others. Of course, the Mayan ruins can be visited, the nearest being Tulum, at less than one hour drive, also Chichen Itza, Coba, Palenque and others. There are amazing theme natural parks, such as Xcaret, Xel Ha or Hidden World cenotes (caves with spring water). All sort of tours are organized to the different destinations, so there is practically no need of a car and is a must to stroll down famous pedestrian 5th avenue where goods and handicrafts from all over the world are sold.
