About our home

This is our winter vacation home, and will be our retirement location in the winter months in a few years! If you haven't been to this part of Mexico, know that the culture and kindness of the people are unmatched.. I have always felt safe to explore the beautiful surroundings and history of the area whether it is by walking around, taking a bus down the coastline to Tulum or Akumal, or taking a taxi around town! You can walk around everywhere and feel safe. Make sure you brush up on your Spanish. I am learning slowly, and the locals are very appreciative when you try to communicate with them, even though they may be laughing inside..hahaha! Seriously, this place is heaven on earth..

Our apartment condo is perfectly located in the complex, having the largest balcony overlooking the beautiful communal pool/courtyard as well as being in close proximity to everywhere you could possible want to be in Playa del Carmen and the Mayan Riviera. It is and open and roomy apartment at 1200 square feet. There is room to sleep for 6 people.

You will fall in love, as I did, with what is feel is the most beautiful area of Mexico - warm turquoise blue caribbean sea, warm white sand and tropical breezes, and the sense of calm that washes over you when you are there..

More about us

  1. My partner and I were both professionals in our fields - now both retired, with four adult children between us. We like to travel as a couple or as a family with potentially three to four people. We would like to bring our children if they can make it depending on their own schedules. So we are looking for accommodations for 2-4 people potentially. We do travel on our own as well. We typically try to arrange an exchange for two to three weeks. It does not have to be simultaneous as this is our vacation home, therefore, we do not have a car available. But we have found that the condo is well located for walking distance to everything you need in Playa del Carmen. Quaint mexican shops and cafe's along with the famous 5th Avenue promenade is close by for walking and there is excellent, affordable public transportation to anywhere you would like to go on the Mayan Riviera or in Playa del Carmen. We use it all the time!

  2. Sandy is a retired professional fundraiser and Terry is a retired IT manager.

  3. We love to travel obviously, we love to experience new cultures, and love meeting other people! We have had two exchanges on Home for Exchange thus far. One to St. Germaine en Cogle France and the other to Alicante Spain. Both were great experiences!
