About our home

We have a lovely home just steps across the street from a perfect sandy ocean beach. The beach is in a large sheltered bay across from an island, one of the nicest and safest Mexico beaches. The first things you might notice about the house are the three large stained glass windows and lovely views from all four decks. There is a generous sized kitchen with all appliances, dining room, living room, laundry, pantry and storage room. We have four large bedrooms with private baths plus two powder rooms. There are also two outside showers, so you can wash off sand from the beach before you enter the house. All appliances and amenities plus security alarm system are included. The upper story has a huge balcony with a second little outside kitchen and a lovely mountain view. The front bedroom balconies have an ocean view, and overlook the palm-lined path that you will walk to go to the beach.

More about us

We are a retired biologist (Dave) and a retired English teacher (Helga). We enjoy living on our acreage in British Columbia, and have many family ties here, but we also love to travel. In the winter we usually go to our Mexico home, to enjoy the tropical weather, but this year we are planning quite an extended European trip. When we are in a new location, we like to explore it quite extensively, and to spend enough time to really get the "feel" for living in that place.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are located one hour north of Puerto Vallarta, with easy access by bus, car or taxi. We are in a quiet residential beach area, with beautiful homes and friendly people. Many of us in the neighbourhood are English speakers, intermingled with Mexican Spanish speakers. In the mornings and evenings you will meet people walking or jogging along the wide sandy stretch of beach. Mid days you might swim, boogie board, walk on the beach to restaurants and shops, or hire a local boat to take you fishing, snorkeling or whale watching. The tennis courts are just a few blocks back on the same road you took to arrive here. We are situated between two charming Mexican small towns, both within walking or biking distance, where you will find delicious Mexican cuisine and great shopping, all at amazingly good prices. Market days are every Monday and Thursday.
