About our home

Most first time visitors are astonished when entering this three year old house that was initially built as an art school. The previous owners never finished that project and we rebuilt the main studio room (3000 sq ft) into a multi purpose loft with a fully equipped kitchen. You will find two seating areas, a dining area, an art book library, a theater with a 100" movie screen and five channel surround sound and an office. You will also find two large movable tables 8x4' for art projects or other activities.

There are many as six high tech ceiling fans keeping this huge room at a steady temperature. The courtyard in front of the bedrooms has it's own shaded seating area.
There is an upstairs terrace with seating for eight and a view of the surrounding mountains.

The entire house including the bedrooms and courtyard is filled with art in all disciplines, paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and decorative art from major US and Mexican artists.

More about us

  1. My wife is an active painter and art historian (hence the art library). I am a professional photographer specializing in art objects and architecture. I work for artists, museums and galleries and do mostly exhibition catalogs. My personal work is on the behavior of light on water. Both of our work can be seen in most rooms of the house.

In our exchanges we would be mostly interested in towns where art is present and important.

Where is it?

The house is in a very residential neighborhood with a great variety of small, large and huge houses. Many are now being renovated as the area is in much demand being adjacent to the colonial center where there is little or no available land anymore.
The walk to the central square is 20 minutes on flat sidewalks (very significant in this mountain town) and the city bus stops in front of the house and will get you there in 10 minutes for US $0.25.

The neighborhood is filled with many small shops and restaurants, within 2 blocks you will find four restaurants, three small groceries and three bakeries. A large indoor/outdoor organic market with six more restaurants is 10 minutes away (on foot).

This is the place to be, near the center without the congestion!
