About our home

This spacious home is in the San Antonio neighborhood of San Miguel de Allende,a famous colonial town of about 120 thousand people, a world heritage site. It is available when the owners are not there, usually from April to October each year. It is everyone's dream of comfort, modern conveniences, garden patios and views of the city as well as easy accessibility to all the sites and attractions. There is also a house manager who can help if there are any questions.

The space

Our casa is 9 years old, with all new appliances, well equipped kitchen, with 6-burner stove and oven, large refrigerator, and dishwasher. There is also a garage with washer and dryer. We have cable TV, wi-fi connection, and a local phone. There are two levels with upper terrace and view, two lower patios and small garden, in gated community of six houses. We have very nice "gringo" and Mexican neighbors. There is a bus stop . We are located near a main highway with easy access to all local attractions and side trips.

Guest access

Guests will be able to stay in the Master bedroom upstairs which is off the beautiful terrace, a nice place for your morning coffee. If you choose twin beds you can stay in the guest room down the hall. Both bedrooms are ensuite. Each has a large bathroom with shower. There is a third bedroom and full bath on the main floor, converted to a den, which has a couch suitable for one person or a child to sleep on. There is also a half bath, sink and toilet, in entry hall.

Other things to note

The house has an extraordinary sense of peaceful ambiance, with it's garden and neighboring open meadow: great for bird watchers, artists and writers. At the same time,we are within walking distance to the center of the city and have many restaurants and shopping within 15 minutes from our front door.

More about us

  1. We're originally from the SF Bay Area, California, and have lived in Portland, Oregon for thirty five years. We now live on the Oregon Coast each summer and in Mexico usually from October to April. I'm an artist/writer and my husband taught with the Portland Public schools. We have two daughters and four grandchildren. We are very adventuresome and love living in Mexico half the year, in San Miguel de Allende.
We love to read, kayak, hike and travel to new places. We also love nature and can't live without regular doses of it! Birding, watching wildlife are favorite past times. Our travel preferences are Europe especially in France where I used to live and work. We also love to travel to other beautiful areas in the US, like New Mexico, Utah's national parks, and the East coast in the fall and NY. I love to cook and we both love good food with a foreign twist.
