Cozy cafés
So many charming ones, many in courtyards in colonial buildings.

From upscale boutiques and art galleries to the local artisans' market.
Bit of culture
San Miguel has an internationally recognized chamber music festival, a hugely well-attended Writers Conference, many lectures, concerts, art walks and indigenous festivals.
Walks in the park
Visit the botanical garden in a canyon above the town for spectacular vistas and native flora and fauna. Stroll in the Jardin, the main plaza in town, in the evening and listen to the mariachis playing.
Spot of exercise
There are lots of local gyms and classes available. Walk everywhere so as not to miss any of the beauty of this World Heritage Site! Also take advantage of the hot springs just outside of town.
Day tripping
The historic cities of Guanajuato and Queretaro are each a 45 minute drive away. Explore the nearest archeological site, only a 20 minute drive away. Take a tour of colonial haciendas in the area.
