About our home

The house here is set in a beautiful garden about 15 minutes from the center of town. The main house is small, with one king bed in a separate bedroom off a courtyard behind the house, and a single bedroom/office. We also have two separate apartments or "Casitas" that sleep two or three people each and can be made available, Car can also be swapped. San Miguel has so many attractions it is best to check it out on line. The climate here is as close to perfect as one will ever find. Casita 1 is often occupied for long term.

More about us

  1. We are a retired couple with three grown children and four grandchildren. We spend half the year in Central Mexico in a beautiful Colonial Jewel San Miguel De Allende GTO. The house here is set in a beautiful garden about 15 minutes from the center of town. It sleeps 5 as well. Our house is small, one King bed but we have a separate apartment that sleeps two or three people that can be made available, car can also be swapped. San Miguel has so many attractions it is best to check it out on line. The climate here is as close to perfect as one will ever find.

Both houses are available and the swap does not have to be simultaneous. We are clean and tidy and would want to treat our swapped house as we treat ours, with care.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico is a beautiful Colonial Jewel founded around the year 1550. It was the originating point of the war of independence against Spain in 1810 and was also in the center of the Mexican revolution one hundred years later. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and vibrant town of about 120,000 people. The expatriate community of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans vary somewhat during the year but average about 5,000. At an altitude of 6,000 to 6,500 feet, the weather is moderate all year. May is the hottest month. The rainy season starts sometime in June and ends in October. During these months thunderstorms are frequent, and the countryside is green. The rest of the year is dry. Air conditioning or central heating are not needed, and it is possible to live a very comfortable indoor/outdoor lifestyle, that is available in few parts of the world.
