About our home

We built this beautiful home just a few years ago for the serenity and views this area offers. The top floor "penthouse" boasts phenomenal views of town and the countryside from its living room and two terraces, one including a spa/hot tub. The next level down has a large comfortable living room with a carved stone fireplace and 42" plasma tv (US sat.), dining room for eight, Mexican kitchen and breakfast nook, office with wi-fi, powder room, and covered outdoor living room with built in bbq and wet bar; these rooms also have gorgeous views. The ground level has a large master suite(king poster bed) w/ brick dome ceiling. Another guest queen bedroom with bath also shares the garden access. A happy Mexican theme imbues the separate (or not) one bedroom (qn bed) casita, w/ kitchen, darling bathroom, living room w/ dining table and patio with separate access. So we actually have two areas to offer or the combination. Oh, did I mention that we have seven fireplaces? And we have a maid 3/week, and a gardener 2/week.

More about us

  1. Frank is retired from manufacturing in the US/Mexico, and enjoys the casual golf club and volunteer work here. Trudi is a retired real estate broker from Lake Tahoe, and enjoys the lively social and entertainment scene in San Miguel. We return to Lake Tahoe about two months of the year, and try to see new places in the world as well. The weather is so beautiful in this mountain town that it is hard to think of leaving, but we have the wanderlust. We can offer our Lake Tahoe home for trade in the spring and fall as well. We visit our children and grandchildren in California annually, otherwise our family at home is canine.

Where is it?

"Magical" is the word most used to describe San Miguel de Allende. Travel magazines and prominent newspapers constantly write about this town and tout it as one of the best ten cities in the world to visit. We recently received World Heritage distinction as well as our neighboring Atotonilco. (Please acquaint yourself on the web if you don't know about San Miguel.) Our home is on a slope affording possibly the most spectacular views all around; the Parroquia Church and all the domes in town, and sunsets beyond the countryside and mountain range. We are a five minute walk to the beautiful French style park, and 15-20 minutes to the principal plaza, the Jardin, and the center of town. Our street, comprised of beautiful homes, is only one block long with no through traffic, and super safe. There are natural hot springs outside of town, golf, and horseback riding. But there are wonderful day trips to take as well to surrounding areas. Airports are Leon, Mexico City, and Queretaro.
