About our home

Our home is right in front of the ocean. All rooms have ocean view. It is decorated in a simple beach cabin style. Oars, buoys, shells, tile roofs, wooden poles, are part of the inside decoration.

Jorge and Genny, our housekeepers, take care of our home. Jorge takes care of the pool and, vegetation and general maintenance and Genny cleans the inside of the house twice a week, or daily if you wish to.

The house has clean sheets and towels and Genny changes them as needed.

Cantamar, is the perfect place for relaxing and be in contact with nature, have a vigorous swim or just bathe in the calm waters of the Gulf. We have kayaks to use either on the ocean or the mangrove swamp for birdwatching.

More about us

We are a married couple in our forties with three children. My husband is a lawyer and I am an English as a Second Language Teacher. Our oldest is 16, our middle child is 13 and our youngest is 7. We value our family time and love to travel together. We also like to host guests in our beach home, advising them where to go and what to do here in our beautiful State of Yucatan.

Where is it?

Cantamar is located within a fishermen village in Yucatan called Telchac. The house is in a safe quiet zone. There you will have the chance to see animals in their own habitat like: Crabs, turtles, mockingbirds, flamingos, pelicans, seagulls, etc....

Only 5 minutes from the house there`s a convenience store with almost everything you could need. Telchac is also 20 minutes away from the main port in Yucatan, Progreso, where international cruises dock every day. You also have the colonial city of Merida 50 minutes away if you want cosmopolitan and cultural life for a while.
