About our home

How can you describe the beauty of the Bay of Kotor? Amber dawns, emerald days and amethyst sunsets in an ancient land. A picture says a 1000 words. Our home is situated less than 10 minutes drive from the historic UNESCO World Heritage town of Kotor built by the Venetians. The area is surrounded by awe-inspiring scenery, old coastal towns, beaches and mountains. During the Summer Kotor is abuzz with cruise ships which sail past our balcony to anchor in the harbour. There are historic sites and towns aplenty, within a couple hours drive up and down the coast, making this the perfect central spot for exploring Montenegro and nearby Croatia. Or if you'd rather just relax, we have our own shared pool, and small beaches at the bottom of the hill.

Features

More about us

  1. We're an almost (3 years to go) retired couple living and working in Abu Dhabi UAE.

  2. Neil (me) is a Boeing 777 captain with Etihad Airways, Sandy, my wife, looks after the homefront.

  3. We love travel whenever we can get the time away from work. Anywhere on the Etihad Airways network is convenient, but always ready willing and able to get a bit off the beaten track.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Tivat airport is just 20 minutes away, and has direct, non stop flights from several airports in Europe during the Summer, and connections through Belgrade in the rest of the year. There is easy access to Kotor via public transport or car, or even walking along the coast road if you're fit. There are also numerous nearby beaches to enjoy on the clear blue water of the bay.

Buzzy restaurants
Numerous good, inexpensive restaurants are nearby. Our local favorite is Lanterna at the bottom of the hill.
Spot of exercise
If you like hiking, the hills above the bay are fantastic, and the views to die for.
Day tripping
Perast, Budva, Porto Montenegro, Lustica Bay, Sveti Stephan, Bar, even Dubrovnic are a day trip away.
