About our home

Located in the heart of the ancient medina of Fez, our second home is DAR 47.
Whilst retaining its traditional features, this stylish retreat is tastefully furnished and fitted with modern luxuries.
DAR 47 can accommodate up to 9 people making it ideally suited to a family or a group of friends travelling together.
You can relax on sun loungers on the front terrace and enjoy magnificent views of the medina. There is even an outdoor rainforest shower to cool off. The side terrace, adjoining the rooftop kitchen, is the perfect place for al fresco dining and features a huge built-in barbeque. At ground floor level, there is a spacious salon with comfortable seating, dining table and fireplace for those cooler evenings.
Accommodation comprises:
3 double rooms with kingsize beds (2 of which are ensuite)
1 twin room
1 single room
Separate shower room
Terrace toilet

We have a lovely live-in housekeeper (Khadija) who has looked after our house and our guests for 10+ years.  She will provide a complimentary daily breakfast for you and servicing of the bedrooms.  She can also prepare Moroccan lunches and dinners for which there would be an additional charge payable to her - please ask me for more details.
We also have a house manager, Younes, who would meet you on arrival to escort you to the house.
I'm happy to help you plan your time in Fez....organising a guide, day trips to Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis etc.

Neighbourhood

DAR 47 is located in the Haffarine district of the medina, bordering the old Jewish quarter of Lihoudi that once housed gold merchants and jewelers. Today it’s rich with the scent of cedarwood being worked in carpentry shops.
The medina of Fez is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the world's largest urban pedestrian zones (car-free areas).
The nearest gate to the house is at Bab Guissa, which is a 2/3 minute walk from DAR 47.
