About our home

Dar 7 Louyat is located near Seffarine square where coppersmiths can be seen hammering their wares into shape, and close to the Qarayouine mosque, from which the call of the muezzin beats the rythm of the day.
Our house is 15th century old and was proceeded a long and careful restoration according to the traditional rules of local architecture. Dar 7 Louyat can accommodate up to 16 people. Comfort for a relaxing stay is provided thanks to 6 large bedrooms each with its own bathroom.
Airport transferts can easily be arranged, guests will be taken to the house by the driver. Guests can also be met on arrival at the nearest parking.
Our housekeeper and our cook will make sure your stay be comfortable, providing all the arrangements you need and cooking wonderful Moroccan cuisine.
Our house is the ideal place to take in the real atmosphere of the middle-age medina of Fes.
Dar7louyat is located close to the famous University of al-Karaouine (or Karaouine mosque), recognised by th UNESCO as the world's oldest university. As Titus Burckhardt put it in his books, you can still feel the peculiar atmosphere of spirituality and scholarship of that place. Just outside the house, you can drown yourself among all types of crafts. You will even meet some craftsmen who are the last ones to know their specific skills. Such are the horn combs maker or the cedar-wood buckets maker. Going for a quiet and watchful walk will take you centuries back at the time of real handmade crafts.
When we don't swap we run the house as a guest house: visit our website for more information, updating, photos, etc., (www.dar7louyat.com).
As we also run the house as a guest house some special features must be made clear : our staff will stay in the house during your stay (though with discretion!) for the maintenance, cleaning and so on; self-catering won't be possible. Breakfast and dinners can be ordered at the usual rates.
We look for similar category of house as for the quality of equipment, size, and so on.
If similar size is not possible, we can swap a few rooms with smaller houses.
