Approximately 200m walk away is a beautiful white sandy beach touted as one of the best in Morocco!The complex is well served by local shops and restaurants all being a short walk away. In addition to this Marjane a major hypermarket selling all your needs is just 15 minutes down the road. Across the road is the 4 star hotel Kabila which has a bar and restaurant serving alcohol. If you fancy a camel ride then the bedouin people with their camels can be found by the salt water lagoon on the road to Mdiq a short distance away.
Colina Smir is located within a 5 minute walk to the Aquapark and fairground which opens in the evenings. There are a variety of other activites to be found in the local area within a 10-15 minute drive from the apartment. If you are partial to a round of golf there is an 18 hole golf course at Cabo Negro only a short drive away. Also in the Cabo Negro area is La Ferma the equestrian centre where you can go horse riding. Further acitivites such as pedaloes, banana boats, dolphin watching, deep sea fishing, diving and jet ski hire are available.The town of Mdiq which grew up out of a small fishing village is about 5 minutes drive along the coast passing King Muhammed VI summer palace. Mdiq has a local market which is well worth a visit. It is also renowned for its fish restaurants where they serve freshly caught fish.
Tetouan a fortified city is the main northern city (population approximately ½ million) is just a 25 minute drive away. There you will find the old walled city containing the souks and medinas that will take you back in time. 20 minutes drive up the road towards Ceuta you will come across the town of Fnideq. On Sundays you will find that the whole town comes alive as an open air market. You will be amazed at the vibrant colours, smells and activity to be found there. You can catch buses and taxis at the entrance to the complex.
I have never tried a holiday home exchange before but decided to give it a go. It seemed a good idea to see different countries around the world. We are a family of four who enjoy walking, exploring and eating!!
