About our home

This beautiful and spacious townhouse was entirely renovated a couple years back and boasts a modern, open layout with top finishings and wood-look tiles throughout. Situated in a secure and cozy complex in one of Windhoek's most sought-after neighborhoods, the home serves as an ideal base from which to enjoy Windhoek and/or travel to other parts of the stunning, peaceful country of Namibia, which boasts the world's most breath-taking sunsets (anyone who argues otherwise is just plain wrong :-) ).

The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but only 2 would be available to swappers/visitors. With double beds in both rooms, it can comfortably sleep 4 people. The rest of the house includes a kitchen, dining room, living room (with the world's most comfy sofa), reading room/library-of-sorts, verandah with built-in bbq/braai, and a small deck in the back. The garage can house 2 cars, and additional parking is available within the complex. A clothes washing machine is available for guest use, and a once-weekly trustworthy cleaning service includes ironing a reasonable amount of clothing per person (still coming up with an objective measure for "reasonable"), along with a full cleaning of the entire house.

Visitors are encouraged to feel relaxed and at home, but please exercise common sense and courtesy in how you treat the home as well as the condition in which you leave it. In the interests of cleanliness, visitors are requested to remove shoes worn outdoors in the entryway and only wear house shoes or go barefoot indoors (house shoes can be any shoes as long as the bottom of the shoe is clean and it is not worn outside). Regretfully, the home is not available to travelers with young children (8 years and younger).

In terms of the neighborhood, it is an upscale, mostly residential area, with a good selection of very good restaurants and bars within 10 minutes of walking or 2-3 minutes of driving. Downtown Windhoek, with a wider selection of eateries and shopping options, is only minutes away by car. Same applies for 2 very popular non-downtown-based shopping malls. In fact, being the small city that it is, there are not many places within the city limits that are further away than a 15-minute drive.

For those seeking adventure further afield, there are numerous options for day trips or weekend getaways within anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours' drive...the choice is yours.

Enjoy the home, enjoy Windhoek, enjoy Namibia!
