About our home

Our house is light, fresh, stylish and comfortable. It is a split-level house containing 7 floors. We bought this house two years ago and rebuilt it completely. It has three bedrooms with double beds, a study with a sofa and an open kitchen from where some steps lead to the living room (with wii, netflix/youtube and free wifi) which leads to the terrace & garden where we use to sit in the summer, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of this friendly and caring neighborhood. We are convinced you will love it, too!

Where is it?

Alkmaar is a typical historical Dutch town - even older than Amsterdam and famous for its cheese market. Our house lies in a child-friendly little-traffic area. A 7 minutes walk takes you to the centre of Alkmaar with its canals (it is called 'small Amsterdam'), restaurants, monumental buildings and generous shopping area. Within 3 minutes walk from our house you can catch the train which brings you within 37 minutes to amazing Amsterdam. Or take the bike for a half hour ride to the Northsea with its beautiful dunes. Or walk through the ancient forests within the classical Dutch landscape with its famous windmills which you can even admire from out the window!
