About our home

Our apartment in Amsterdam is an ideal starting point to explore the exciting city of Amsterdam. On foot, by tram or by bike you are in the very center of the city in a matter of minutes.
About Amsterdam
We guess we don't have to spell out the other features of Amsterdam. It's a beautiful old city with lots of fun and beautiful things to do. Visit one of the many museums or go on a guided tour to learn more about the city. Have dinner in a restaurant of your choice or just sit on one of the lovely outside café's and enjoy the views.

Our home
Our 130 m2 (1400 sqft) apartment was built a couple of decades ago in the 350 year old building 'De Paerl', which used to be a brewery and is located on the 5th (top) floor, with elevator. There is a well-equipped kitchen/dining room, living room and bathroom and a bedroom. There is a small private patio, excellent for al fresco dining or just to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. The beautiful old beams are still visible, and combined with the ancient oak wood floors give the apartment a lofty feel.

Our neighborhood
The apartment is located in the center of Amsterdam, just a short distance from the main railway station. The place is easy accessible by car, and parking is outside on the streets. The famous Zoo 'Artis', is merely a ten minute walk away and even closer, just a at the end of the street you find the Scheepvaartmuseum (Maritime Museum) with the wonderful replica of the 1749 Far East Sailing Company (VOC) ship 'the Amsterdam' moored in its harbor. Talking about water: it is all around us, we even have our own little dock at the back of the building (unfortunately for residents only). Starting from our house, you can enjoy a lot of the real Amsterdam by foot or by public transport, or even by bike, if you dare. The city starts right at our doorstep.

Amsterdam is centrally located in the Netherlands and offers you a perfect starting point to explore our beautiful country. The ancient cities of Utrecht, Amersfoort, Groningen, Den Haag, Leiden, Delft are all within 30 minutes to 2 hours by car or train.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
Ask us for our favorites in Amsterdam or right here in our neighborhood. We love to eat out!
Cool bars
Our favorite is the 'Wildeman' in Amsterdam. More than 200 beers from all over the world.
Retail therapy
Too much to handle, but we recommend 'De negen straatjes' in the Jordaan.
Bit of culture
Name your choice and we've got it!
Walks in the park
Oosterpark, Flevopark, Artis ZOO, Vondelpark - and many more in the heart of Amsterdam
Day tripping
We are located centrally in the Netherlands (why not go to the beach?). Even daytrips to Belgium and Germany are possible.
