Our house was build in 1892. It has just been renovated, and we tried to lay an emphasis on the age of the building. It is a unique, nice and quiet place in this lively city. Close to parks and close to the beautifull old centre.
On the first floor: a big living room and seperate kitchen from which you go into the garden/patio. In the back of the garden is a little study.
Second floor: two bedrooms (about the same size) of which one is used as childrens room and the other has an open bathroom (with sufficient ventilation).
There is also a little attic which can be used for storage, or were one person can sleep.
We are Anke (34) en Vincent (30). We are both actors in Dutch theatre's and television. We love travelling, but we just got a baby and by this home exchange (which will be our first) we seek a nice way to stay abroad for a while with the little one. We also want to take our little dog along (the size of a cat). But he can stay home aswell.
We bought this house because the baby was on it's way. We are proud of the renovation we did and we love to share that. A new house in an old city!
We love Amsterdam for it's a beautiful town, the cultural capital of the Netherlands, both international and village-like.
Our house is located in a an old cosy street in a laidback neighbourhood close to the city center. 4 tramlines take you to about anywhere in the city,
but you can bike and walk aswell. Amsterdam is a city with many oppertunities. A lot of beautifull architecture, many theatres, parks, restaurants but most of all the lovely canals with the many little bridges, which make the city a special place.
It's a 20 min drive to the beach.
And there are some lakes and woods close to Amsterdam.
