Smart modern (1998) apartment, centrally situated in the old part of Amsterdam. A lift takes you up to the fifth floor. Two bedrooms, both with double beds, bathroom with shower and bath, separate wc, absurdly expensive designer kitchen, open dining area and sitting room with cable TV (English, French, German, Italian and Dutch channels). The balcony overlooks a working canal with barges and pleasure boats passing, so you can watch the Dutch bridges open and shut as you eat your breakfast and drink your coffee outside.

We're an Australian children's author and playwright (Richard) and a Dutch social worker (Agnes) both 65+. Our grown up children live in Sydney, so we've been 'seizing the day', living between our bases in Sydney and Amsterdam and travelling a lot. We're very experienced and very neat exchangers, always leaving super clean places behind us.
We're looking for short exchanges (about a week, only within Europe, sorry) between April and September 2023.
On the other side of our canal is an entrance to the beautiful and famous Vondelpark. It's a ten minute bike ride through the park to the centre of the Amsterdam tourist action - Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Concert Hall and Leidseplein. No need for a car - bikes, trams and walking shoes are the best ways to get around Amsterdam! For non-cycling guests, the tram stop is just around the corner. It's fifteen minutes by tram or bike to the historic Jordaan area, the Anne Frank House and Amsterdam's Centraal Station. Plenty of interesting shops, food markets and 'gezellig' or 'cozy' cafes and restaurants are within walking distance of the apartment. When you've had enough fun, it's a twenty minute tram and train ride out of town to Schiphol Airport.
