“We spent the summer vacation 2021 in the cozy home of Natasja, Govert and their boys. We absolutely loved the exchange. The house is very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed having a cup of tea in the morning sun on the terrace in front of the house, waving at the neighbors and saying hello to the cat next door. In the evening, we could have dinner on the cozy terrace at the back of the house. The house is in a car-free zone and there is a canal right at the end of the street. The house is really well located. Grocery stores and the local market are within walking distance. So is the small ferry which would take us straight to the central station. The ferry sails all the time (for free) so we did not have to take the transport time into consideration. We borrowed bikes from Natasja and Govert and rode them into the city. It made getting around really easy and made us feel like real "Amsterdammers". As Danes, we have our basic cycling skills in place which is recommended if cycling in the city! We brought teenagers with us so shopping was a natural part of the trip. We of course walked up and down the main shopping streets in the city center, but we really enjoyed both Haarlemmerstraat and the cosy area of De Negen Straatjes. One of the days, we rented a small electric boat from Boaty and sailed the central canals for some hours, stopping for lunch along the way. We also visited an escape room and made it out just in time. We also went on an Alternative Walking Tour and got some quirky facts about the city from an equally quirky and funny guide. Some mornings, while the teenagers slept in, we would go for a morning run in the local Noorderpark. It has a small lake, rose garden and a bar, which we did not get time to visit, but it looked really nice. We would dine out many nights. Amsterdam offers food from all over the world and there are many cozy cafés and restaurants to be found, like Rainarai in Prinsengracht with food from Algeria. Before and during the exchange, we stayed in contact using WhatsApp. Communication with Natasja was very easy and she gave us some great tips while planning the trip. At our house, everything was really well taken care of, especially our pets which we appreciate very much. We can only recommend doing an exchange with Natasja, Govert and their boys. Thanks for the exchange - we wish you many great exchanges in the future. Best regards from Mikkel, Magne, Lotte, Hannah and Sarah”

“We would certainly recommend this family: we had a great time in Amsterdam. Natasja and her family was wonderful and wiry nice. They took good care of our house in Paris and left the apartment in a perfect condition. We could also use their bikes and had a great time cycling. The house in on the Java island and just in front of the sea, near the central station and Nemo parc, a great attraction for children. We thank you very much for this great holiday!!”
“We have had the great fortune to exchange our apartment with Natasja and her family. The apartment is conveniently located in a new neighborhood of Amsterdam, quiet and comfortable, very suitable for families with children, and just 15 minutes walk from the center. If you like walking, no need to take public transportation to the main tourist attractions of this beautiful city. In any case, there is a bus line a few meters away, and a tram that stops nearby. There is also a ferry (free) that takes you to the north of the city where you can park for free. Communication with Natasja has always been friendly and collaborative, and on our return we found our house in perfect condition. Without any doubt, a highly recommended exchange.”
“We had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam at Natasja and Govert's home. Their apartment is very convenient and nice, and it's well situated on the Java Island, a very beautiful place with lots of interesting buildings and always a boat to see through the windows. We could use their bikes, which is a great way to discover Amsterdam, cycling along the canal. We saw beautiful museums and paintings, we went to Haarlem, to the seaside and liked very much cycling along the IJ-meer, as you are very quickly out of town and in a beautiful countryside. We could meet Natasja and Govert before to leave and they gave us very good advices about what to do in Amsterdam. That was our first stay in this city, but maybe not the last one !”
“L'échange avec Natasja et sa famille s'est très bien passé: la communication avant et pendant le séjour a été très facile, leur maison est très agréable et idéale pour découvrir Amsterdam et ses environs. Le quartier est très calme, un petit jardin permet de manger dehors. Amsterdam est une très belle ville, très riche culturellement. L'accès depuis l'aéroport et la gare est rapide et simple en transports en commun. Nous recommandons chaleureusement les échanges avec cette famille !”
“We've spent one day with Natasja and Govert, Lucas and Tjebbe their sons, in our house, just before leaving for the Nederlands. We felt in harmony, they are such a nice family! And they were so happy to be in the countryside. We were excited too, to discover their place near Amsterdam! It was easy to find, cross the IJ canal with the free ferry, then walk 20 minutes, and you discover a nice recent street, with no-cars and friendly front gardens. Our guest's three levels flat is fantastic, convenient and well decorated, with a lovely back garden! Our Dutch friends had provided many local drinks, food and souvenirs for us! Amsterdam City is wonderful, with its canals, old houses, exciting museums. By train, it's very easy and quick to reach other historical cities of the Nederlands, as Haarlem, Utrecht, Den Hagen, etc. We also used our guest's bikes to discover the amazing countryside. Dutch people are very friendly and the Nederlands is so interresting! When we came back home, our house was clean and tidy and our garden was perfect! We highly recommend Natasja and Govert, they are perfect for home exchanging, and we'll definithy keep contact with them. They will be welcome anytime if they want to come back! ”
“We really enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam. The house is beautiful, well equipped, we were excited to have bikes available. Amsterdam on wheels is the best! The house is a short distance from the city center and also in a quiet residential area. The neighbours were very helpful and kind. We also thank Natasha and her family for having a good care of our house. Everything went smoothly, we were very satisfied and we have plenty of new experiences from nice capital of Holland :)”
“Hello Natasja and gents, Thank you for the exchange this autumn holidays. I spent 5 days in your house and had a wonderful time. The contact between us was easy through WhatsApp. Your house is located near Central Station and from there you can take the tram to different parts of the city. I visited different museums and walked from there back to Central Station to get a feel of Amsterdam. Your house is very nice, well equiped. So I strongly recommend your house on Homeforexchange and let me know if you want to visit Zwolle again. Bye, Anke Koot”
“We spent two weeks last summer in Natasja and Govert\'s house, in Amsterdam. They trusted us with their new home in the North of Amsterdam. The house is very comfortable and cosy. The area is very peaceful and the neighbours are nice ! They let us enough bicycles so that we can go to the ferry and visit the city by bike. We all loved it ! Amsterdam is a beautiful city with lots of museums, coffees, restaurants... Natasja and Govert let us some dutch specialities and even a dictionnary when we came back home ! They let the house clean and tidy. Don\'t hesitate to do a swap with this family !”
“We exchanged homes with Natasja for a week. Their apartment is very well situated in Amsterdam. From there, one could visit and explore the surroundings very easy. We had a fabulous time visiting local markets, neighbouring towns and doing strolls in the old city. All arrangements and communications with them were smoothly and definitely made us feel welcome. This exchange is definitely to be recommended.”
Where is it?
