About our home

A modern loft apartment with a private roof terrace, located right on the boarder with the charming Jordaan district. Quiet and central at the same time, it is a perfect base for sightseeing and exploring Amsterdam’s many attractions by public transport, bike or on foot. The loft has a surface of 57 m2 and has been recently fully renovated with modern amenities and design. A guest bedroom is best suited for a couple or a single traveller, whereas the living room can sleep one more person.

Please note that for points swaps there is a one-off cleaning fee of EUR 75 per stay. For direct swaps I am happy to waive the cleaning fee altogether in order to match the conditions of other hosts.

More about us

  1. My name is Monika. I'm 40 years old and 14 years ago I moved to Amsterdam. I have a curious mind, I like to explore and learn new things, be it by traveling, talking to people, watching documentaries or reading. I travel as far as I can and as often as I can. So far I have visited 57 countries and I keep counting...

I am still in love with the city and I'm happy to share it passion with my guests and fellow travellers. Amsterdam feels like home now and I really miss my bike whenever I stay away too long. Sometimes, when cycling back through the canals in the evening, I still stop in awe at a canal bridge taking in the view.

  2. I've been an Airbnb (super)host for a few years and recently I decided to also join Love Home Swap.

I really enjoy being a host and each time do my utmost best to make my guests' stay a nice experience. It feels like making new friends and I'm really happy when they come back to Amsterdam.

I speak Polish, English, German, Dutch and Spanish and understand basic Russian and French, so hopefully we'll find a good way to communicate :-)

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Amaliastraat is a quiet residential street, which should help you recover from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist areas and all the bicycle traffic. Located only 1 km away is the Westerpark, most popular Amsterdam parks among the locals. It's not only a perfect spot for jogging, an outdoor workout or a leisurely walk, but also a main cultural hotspot with its famous Sunday food markets.

Located just a few bus stops from Amsterdam Centraal NS Station, with several tram and bus stops within 150 m, this apartment is very convenient to reach with public transport. You can also explore the city on foot or by bike. Some famous sights such as Anne Frank House and the Noordermarkt are just 1 km away. Westerstraat, one of the main streets in Jordaan district is just around the corner, offering plenty of food options including restaurants, supermarkets and a farmer’s market.

Every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3 p.m. there is a big farmer's market at the Noordermarkt. A part of the square is occupied by a a flea market section. You can buy local organic produce as well as cheese. Each Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. there is another market alongside the Westerstraat, mainly with textile products. The part towards Noordermarkt is similar to the Saturday market, but smaller. Westerstraat offers a lot of restaurants and cafes, as well as several supermarkets and specialty shops.

BY CAR
It is a safe area and there are always some free parking spots nearby, where you simply pay by the meter. The area is marked blue at the map, bordering with the purple zone of the city center. Alternatively, more economical car parks and P&R (Park & Ride) locations a bit further away from the city center are marked on the map. These P&R locations might prove to be a good alternative for longer stays, with daily parking costs as low as EUR 1 a day.

To reach the apartment from the NS station Amsterdam Centraal take bus #18 direction Slotervaart. You can purchase a ticket from the driver. Enter the bus through the front door. After the it turns right press the button so that the driver knows to stops and lets you out. You should be exiting on the 6th stop, but please bear in mind that the bus does not always stop unless there is someone requesting to to do so. You will need to exit at the stop "Frederik Hendrikplantsoen". From there it is a mere 100 m walk to the apartment.

On your way back both buses are headed towards direction "Centraal Station". Both of them go frequently (about every 10 minutes) but I'd recommend that you check the timetables, especially if leaving early in the morning, on a weekend or on a public holiday. The night bus #753 stops at the same stop. Tram #3 stops right next to the bus #18 stop "Frederik Hendrikplantsoen". You can also walk 250 m further and take tram #10 at "Marnixplein". All other connections also pass through it.

For a local feeling hit the charming area of 9 Straatjes (9 Little Streets). The Dam Square with its department stores De Bijenkorf and Hudscon's Bay, Kalverstraat, Leidsestraat and P.C Hoofdstraat are the key shopping areas in Amsterdam. All of them can be reached on foot, by bike, tram or bus.
