“We were very lucky to spent well planned two weeks in the cozy and stylish house of Sabine and Michel. We had a good contact before and while our exchange and the welcome was very warm even though we didn't manage to meet personally. They made us (and especially our children) most happy by lending us their electric (cargo!) bikes, it was so much fun to take them to the recommended playgrounds, to town and near the Rhine. Arnhem itself has a lot to offer for every age like as parks and museums. We especially enjoyed the Watermuseum and the still working windmill. Furthermore we highly recommend De Spelerij, a fantastic workshop and adventure playground for children and the National Park Hoge Veluwe with beautiful landscape. And we recommend exchanging with Sabine, Michel, Mees and Birke! Thank you very much for sharing your home with us!”
Sabine's reviewsAs a host (11)
“Wij zijn deze zomer (2017) 10 dagen in Sabine en Michel’s huis geweest. De communicatie was erg goed en prettig, het ontvangst goed geregeld met goede uitleggen en het huis is erg prettig, schoon en ligt dichtbij het centrum. De keuken is schitterend en wie van koken houdt heeft echt alles bij de hand om te genieten.”
“Our first home exchange in our own country! We spent a great week in the city of Arnhem, in the house of Sabine, Michel, Mees and Birke, during the May-holidays. The house is great, clean, plenty of room, fully equipped, lovely garden and centrally located in Arnhem. With the bikes (cool cargo bike!) we visited the parks, playgrounds, the zoo, museums and our favorite area, the 'Modekwartier'. Our little girl enjoyed herself very much, with the toys in the house and garden. We loved the fact that we got a chance to meet for coffee, exchanging keys. We somewhat kept in touch during the week, helping each other out when necessary. Very friendly! We returned to a clean house! It was a great exchange, we highly recommend Arnhem and this family for a home exchange!”
“We had a wonderful time in the house of Sabine, Michel, Mees and Birke. The house is situated in the vicinity of the central train station and the central city is closeby. The house is spacious, clean and well equiped. Sabine and Michel had left an extensive description and sent an instruction film for the equipment. We communicated through Whatsapp and they responded quickly, when we had questions. We loved sitting in the backgarden, which was lovely alluminated at night. We once visited the nice community garden, where there is among others a swing. There is a lot do in the vicinity of the house and the beautiful city of Arnhem. We visited among others Park Hoge Veluwe and the Kroller Muller Museum, the Open Air Museum, the centre of Arnhem, Park Sonsbeek and the berceau De Groene Bedstee (lovely, really a must-see and must-walk-through :-)) and we swam in the Rijkerswoerdse plassen. We really can recommand a houseswap with this family!”
“We spend one week in the lovely family home of Sabine and Michel in Arnhem. It was our first swap ever and we really enjoyed their beautiful house and the surroundings. The house is clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. It’s well situated close to the train station, the city centre, supermarkets and some nice parks. They let us explore Arnhem and the natural surroundings at their bicyles. We visited Burgers Zoo, the Holland Open Air Museum, Sonsbeeck park, the fairytale festival the library and the nice city centre. We met Sabine, Michel, Mees and Birke at the beginning and at the end of the swap. The contact was very warm and they are happy to help you out with tips and recommendations during the swap. We cooked a meal for each other for the first evening and bought some nice presents for our kids to feel them at home. They took very good care over our house. All the arrangements and communications with them went smoothly and they definitely made us feel welcome. Thanks lovely family to make our first house swap really great. Exchange with this family is definitely recommended.”
“We had a wonderful holiday at Sabine and Michel’s lovely house. We discovered their beautiful city, Arnhem, and living as a local just near the centre and the Sonsbeek park was really great. We took this opportunity also to explore Arnhem by bicycle, easily with the very nice bikes and cargo electric bike. We were blessed also with a wonderful weather during our staying there and spending time outside in the lovely garden for lunch or dinner was amazing. There are so many different things to do and beautiful places to explore near the house. For example, we really liked Burger’s zoo, Openluchtmuseum, the exceptional and so quiet Het national Veluwe park (so nice for riding with children in the Nature), The Kröller-Müller Museum and its Vincent van Gogh's collection … We were very lucky to meet a so friendly family and had many help and contacts during our stay. The house is very clean and comfortable and has also a so warm and charming decoration ! We warmly recommend to exchange with this family ! Thank you so much again Sabine, Michel, Mees and Birke for this unforgettable exchange!
“Our first home exchange was a pure success! The contact with Sabine and Michel was very open-minded and friendly from the very beginning. Starting with a skype-session and a long telephone call, we knew it would work out just fine. With our first exchange ahead of us, we felt very comfortable and relaxed. Throughout the stay, we were in nice contact with them and Michel has answered all of our remaining questions that we had. It was very clear: these nice people were experienced home exchangers! Our two daughters and ourselves felt very much welcomed from the moment we entered their cozy home in Arnhem. Arnhem itself has lots of attractions, even when the weather should not be so nice from time to time when we can recommend the "Groote Koppel" as a very nice and spacious indoor swimming area. Arnhem is a very green city with lots of nice parks and playgrounds as well as a beautiful pedestrian zone. As mentioned before by other exchangers, we enjoyed to use the ebikes as well and our two girls loved the cargo bike - big fun! On our way back home, we managed to meet with Sabine, Michel and their two kids Birke and Mees and it was a pleasure to meet them in person. Overall, we can only recommend this exchange!”
“What a great time we had around new years at Sabine and Michel's cozy home. We even managed to meet for a coffee and a chat along the way!!! From the beginning we felt very welcome and Sabine provided us not only with information about Arnhem, but even with the first food basics (Thank's for that, we will copy that for further exchanges :)) Our kids loved the electrical Cargobike and even though it was quite misty we went to see the Zoo and the wonderful parks nearby. Thanks again for the wonderful time! ”
“Last weekend we had a wonderful swapping experience with Sabine and Michel. We were warmly welcomed, the house was quiet, lovely, peaceful and -to us- luxurious and only 12 houses away from our friends we wanted to pay a visit. We also rediscovered Arnhem and found ourselves overwhelmed with all the things you can do, drink, eat and buy in the city. Thanks very much Sabine and Michel for this great swap! Paul and Hester.”
“Michel and Sabines home is perfect for visiting Arnhem. Close to the station, which was great for us since we dont have a car. But fortunately Sabine and Michel provided us with great bikes, also for our 7 year old boy. Arnhem is a beautiful spot i the Netherlands, with all the hills and huge green park and forests. A really great house, clean and very cozy. We were given plenty of information, and whatever questions we had - they helped us right away. We strongly recommend exchanging with this family.”
