About our home

+++ 6 nights minimum for points swaps) ++++

Due to Amsterdam regulations, we can only allow a maximum of 4 people (including children) to stay at our house for points swaps!

Our house is a beautiful and characteristic 300years old building in a quiet residential street in the middle of the center of Amsterdam.

The museum square, the lively Leidseplein, the picturesque "Spiegelstraat", filled with beautiful antique shops and art galleries, Prinsengracht and lots of great restaurants, bars and shops are right around the corner from us. There are also several great playgrounds for kids in the neighbourhood.

Our house can comfortably sleep 4 people. It has 3 bedrooms and a small office that has another single bed. This makes it perfect either for a family, a couple or a few friends ;-)

The master bedroom on the first floor is very spacious (30 m2) and has a very comfortable 4-poster bed which was made from old wooden floor boards from our house. It has an en-suite bathroom with a free standing bathtub and a rain shower. The girls room has a full-size single bed and a smaller kids bed. Our small guest room has a single bed which can fold out to a double. There is also a small second bathroom on the ground floor with a shower.

The living room is light, with big windows and high ceilings. It has a small dining area and a comfortable seating area with sofa and 2 great, very comfortable loungers. We have a big screen TV with digital TV channels and Netflix. The kitchen is connected to our living room. It's a lovely, fully equipped kitchen (we love to cook and bake:-) and it looks out onto the garden. Our house has a nice little garden in the back with 2 sun loungers, a bbq, a nice outside dinner table and a small playhouse for the children.

We put a lot of love into the furnishing of our house. It's a mix of scandinavian design furniture, a few antiques and home accessories that we collected from travels around the world. We also have quite a few moroccan furnishings in the house which make it very cozy. You also find our beautiful moroccan carpets throughout the house. We design them ourselves as part of a little charity project (The Weavery moroccan carpets) we are doing to support the ladies of Driss' birth village in Morocco, who make the carpets themselves for a fair wage as a labour of love.

* We also have a bed and breakfast within our house (the B&B rooms have a private entrance).

** Please note that we do not ask for a cleaning charge for direct swaps.

*** For points swaps, a charge will be made for linen and cleaning of 100,- Euro per stay for 1-2 people.
For every additional person staying we charge an extra 20,- Euro per person for the linen/cleaning.

**** Due to Amsterdam regulations, we can only accept a maximum of 4 people (including children) for points swaps!

***** Please also note that our house has steep staircases throughout the house! Therefore it's only suitable for people for whom this is no problem. Also, please bring slippers for your stay as we have wooden stairs, which means if you walk with socks, the stairs are slippery.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are very centrally located. Our street is part of a lovely small neighbourhood, which feels almost like a little village in the middle of the city center. Our street is a small, quiet side street with almost no car traffic. We are steps away from everything. Supermarkets, lovely cafes, nice little shops as well as all the museum square with all the big museums are within a 10min walking radius from us. We also have the metro and trams 1-2 min walk away from us that connect you north, south, east and west.

Buzzy restaurants
There are plenty of lovely restaurants in the area. We can of course advise you.
Cool bars
local bar, Cafe de Wetering, an old dutch brown bar is just down the road.
Cozy cafés
Buffet van Odette is around the corner, an all time favourite for brunch, lunch, dinner or just a drink.
Retail therapy
The Nine Streets is a lovely little area within the canal district with lots of lovely boutiques and cafes. Not even 15min by foot from us.
Bit of culture
Museumsquare with all the major museums is just 3 minutes from us. And Spiegelstraat is also a beautiful small street just down the road from us filled with antique shops and smaller art galleries. The city offers lots of other great museums and attractions which are all in easy reach from us.
Walks in the park
Vondelpark is a the biggest recreational park of Amsterdam and less than 10min by foot from us.
Spot of exercise
Free Online Yoga in our house, or Studio Anna Mora, a great Pilates Studio, 2min from our house. There are also several yoga studios (e.g. Delight yoga)around de corner. Or you can just go for a run in the nearby Vondelpark or along Amstel river.
Day tripping
It's great to visit the villages on the Ijsselmeer by bus. Or to visit other Dutch cities by train like Haarlem, Utrecht, Delft, Rotterdam. Also nice is to go to the Windmills on Zaanse Schans or, if it's the season, visit the Keukenhof tuilips.
