About our home

We completely renovated our house, preserving many authentic details such as the massive wooden beams, while creating a modern, comfortable house with sufficient space for 4 - 8 people.

We are a family with two kids (daughter, 15 years, son, 13 years), and live here during the year. The house is in a quiet, residential area, right in the middle of the center of Amsterdam. So you can enjoy the city to the fullest whether you like museums, concerts, restaurants, or the famous Dutch nightlife.

The house is kid-friendly and we have two wonderful cats. Since we plan on traveling, while you stay in our place, we would like the cats to stay in the house. Over the summer our pets may stay at a different place though.

We are looking for (non) simultaneous swaps for skiing in the Alps in February and we would love to visit New York the last week of April of the first week of May.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four (two kids, ages 16 and 14)

  2. We own a high-end meal service in Amsterdam, Marleen is chef, while Joris takes care of the more mundane matters

  3. Obviously we love food and often take detours on our travels for a specific restaurant

We are just a few steps away from the Rijksmusem (Rembrandt), van Gogh museum and Stedelijk museum, as well as the famous classical concert hall (Concertgebouw)
Walks in the park
Just a few steps away from Vondelpark, where many Dutch people enjoy the free concerts (weekend) while sipping a wine or having a picknick
Day tripping
Amsterdam is close to many (historical) sight such as Volendam, Delft, the Hague, Rotterdam. Most of them are with one hour by public transportation
