“We spent a marvellous week at Esthers home. My wife, my 20years old son and I experienced a peaceful, comfortable time in a modern and well equipped home outside of Amsterdam city but well connected . Coming from the city tours , sometimes rather tired from crowd and heat, we enjoyed the quiet and relaxing home , taking a refreshing swim in front of the house. Due to the exceptional heat, we only missed an air conditioning. Esther , though on holiday, was very close and caring , full of precious advices through iphone and wa. We can only encourage LHS members to visit Amsterdam and surroundings by staying at Esthers home. Unforgettable , beatiful experience.”

“We loved this exchange with Esther and her family ! The house is just fabulous with lot of comfort and with an incredible wiew on water, it's magic ! It was the second time that we went to Amsterdam and we love this town with so nice architectural interests... The communication with Esther was really great and we highly recommend an exchange with them.”
“We had a great time in Esther en Gerda’s home. The house is cozy and very clean with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The house is situated in a very green part of Amsterdam. The neighborhood is very relaxed; children are playing in the streets and swimming in the small lake at the end of the garden. The neighbors are very nice and our children played with other kids in the neighbors’ garden. We loved to stay in the house, sit in the garden with nice flowers or enjoy the view on a bench watching the small lake. It is the perfect place to relax after a day in the center of Amsterdam. In just a few stops the tram will take you to Amsterdam Central Station. We thought this is the best of both worlds: stay in a very green part of Amsterdam and be in the middle of all activity of inner city Amsterdam in just a few stops by tram. We loved this! Esther is very easy to contact. She helped us in every way to make our stay in their house a nice holiday for us. And they took good care of our house and our dogs while they stayed in our home during the house-swap. We can recommend to stay in Esther and Gerda’s home!”
Where is it?
IJburg is a neighberhood in Amsterdam wich was totaly build up in a big lake. This ‘land making’ (with millions of tons of sand) is still going on and is very interesting to follow when you are visiting this neighberhood. Beautifull views at the ‘ijsselmeer’ and the special architecture from lots of houses designed by architectes or designed by the owners themselfes. By tram you are within 15 minutes at Amsterdam central station in the city center. The tramstop is a 5 minutes walk from our house, but you can also use our bikes and explore Amsterdam at the Dutch way. You can easely bike to the city center within 20 minutes.
