About our home

Our home is centrally located in the lush green village of Dieren, along the IJssel river, in the Veluwe (a nature area in the East of the Netherlands). We are 20 minutes drive from Arnhem, 1hr20 min from Amsterdam, 1hr22 min from the Hague and 1hr20 from Dusseldorf, Germany. Explore the Dutch countryside by bicycle or take a train from the station (3 min walk from our house), to anywhere in Holland or Germany.

Our house was built in 1931 and has many authentic features of the typical much-loved 1930’s style house such as stain-glassed windows, original tiling and a bay window in the living room. We’ve modernised the house and recently added solar panels to be energy efficient.

There are many historical villages in the area such as Zutphen, Doesburg and Deventer which are all well worth a visit. The Posbank nature reserve is great for cycling and only 17 min away.

This is the perfect location from which to explore the Netherlands at your own pace, away from the throngs of tourists.
