A comfortable 5 bedroom house, located in a family-oriented neighborhood (non smoking). Several sturdy Dutch bicycles available.
Our house has a double bed, and three 1p.-beds. Of course we have a micro-wave, fridge, oven and shower; etc. But also a 2/3 person finnish wooden sauna (inside). Piano, guitar also available. We have a small town-garden.
Children are welcome.
Ede, our town, is in the middle of Holland. Beautiful forests are around (bike-rides!). Old Dutch towns are all within 60 minutes, as is the ocean. The train station and public swimming pool are 15 minutes by bike. (Paris is 6 hours away).
There is a beautiful museum with several Van Gogh's (http://www.kmm.nl/?lang=en) within bike-riding distance, 15 min. by car.
We live in a relaxed neighborhood with lots of young families and the occasional older couple. The houses are built in typically Dutch row-construction: several houses in a row. Ede has a market which sells local products every Saturday and Monday morning. It's a great place to visit, watch the people interact, smell the flavors and try some Dutch cheese or fish.
Ususally we go bike riding in summer as we live in one of the tourist areas of Holland, called the Veluwe. Lots of forests and small towns that form attractions. Also the cities of Amersfoort and Arnhem are right next door.
Holland has a lot of small romantic towns and cities spread all over. As Ede is right in the middle of the country it easy to visit these one at a time. Another attraction is the coastline, the beaches and the small islands where one can spend weekends. And of course the maginficent Museums - like in Amsterdam.
Bruxelles (capitol of Belgium) and Paris (France) are within driving distance. Berlin (capitol of Germany) has the same distance.
Our house is located on walking distance from a large grocery store. One of the best cinema's from Holland is in Ede. We do have romantic restaurants around. If you choose to stay here you will have an enjoyable time!
We are a family of 5. Jelle, the husband/father, is from 1964. He is a professor of social work. Heleen, the wife/mother, is from 1963 and is a nurse in the Ede hospital.
Our kids are from 1991, 1994 and 1998. The two youngest will join us this summer. The oldest is studying in Amsterdam (political sciences). The one in the middle dreams of becoming an architect.
We love to travel and see other cultures and countries. We also like to go tent camping in natural parks or the Alps. Jelle likes to paint and read(history, management, theology), Heleen enjoys walking in the forests or drinking coffee with friends. All of us like good family movies (Pixar!).
