About our home

We have a comfortable, modern house in a quiet and green neighborhood with much privacy. The living room, the fully equipped modern kitchen, the hallway and a toilet are on the ground floor. Two double bedrooms and a bathroom with second toilet on the first floor and a study on the second floor. All the rooms have central heating and wooden floors (tiles in bathroom and kitchen). Outside is a small garden/patio. Next to the house is a shed with bicycles.

Where is it?

Our neighborhood is quiet with no through traffic and very near to the old city centre; 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes by bicycle. The busstop to the city centre and train/bus station is at the end of the street, a one minute walk from the house. There are two city-parks within walking distance.

Groningen is an old and lively university-city.
The city has just over 200.000 inhabitants and is a cultural and economic centre for the northern part of the country.
It has one of the largest universities of the Netherlands with over 45.000 students.
Amsterdam is a two-hour drive by car or by train and there is a direct train connection between Amsterdam airport and Groningen (2 hours).
Also a direct bus connection between Bremen airport (Germany) and Groningen (2 hours).
The coast is a one-hour drive away and a visit to one of the inhabited islands just off the coast, like the Island Schiermonnikoog or the German Island Borkum, makes a very attractive day trip.
There is excellent public transport.
Other European countries (Germany, Belgium, France, Denmark, England) are within easy reach.
Groningen airport has a daily flight connection with London Southend airport (low-cost carrier flybe)
