About our home

Our historical home was completely re-build in 2010. It is a clean house with all the early 20th century features still in place, like the high ceilings and windows. In the evening we have diner at the long table next to the open kitchen, or we eat some tapas and drink some wine in the front room next to the fireplace. In the morning we have the sun on the front balcony on the street side of the house, in the afternoon and evening in turns to the south-end of the house and you can enjoy the sun on our terrace. After a busy day you can relax taking a bath, of just crush on the sofa and watch your favorite Nexflix series.

Neighbourhood

Welcome to Haarlem, voted best shopping city in The Netherlands! Haarlem is a beautiful city, Haarlem has it all! A very popular city and adored by locals as well. Canals, historical squares and narrow, cosy streets with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The beaches of Bloemendaal en Zandvoort are a 20 min bicycle ride away through a nature reserve. Amsterdam and Schiphol are also very close (20 min by car or bus). Just 15 minutes away from Amsterdam (car, train and/or bus) is the historical city of Haarlem. A very popular city and adored by locals as well. Haarlem lies on a perfect location between Amsterdam and the Dutch coast.

We love to live in this city and this pretty neighbourhood. Our house is located on walking distance from the city centre in the neighbourhood called, "De Koninginnebuurt" (translated: "Queenquarter"). It is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Haarlem. It has its great early 20 century houses and its wide, open and green streets. We love living here. It is a great and save place for our kids to grow up. The park 'de Hout' is just a short walk away with playgrounds and a petting zoo. The neighbourhood has a little bakery (perfect to have breakfast or lunch as well), caterer, greengrocer, winery and restaurant. For exercise in the neighbourhood you can play tennis, go jogging in the park or enjoy water activities on the city canals.
